Embossing Folder Week: Watercolor!
Hey there, crafty friends! Happy Wednesday! It’s day two of our week exploring fun ways to use Embossing Folders! Did you know that we have 60 unique Embossing Folders? They are such a great way to add a quick bit of visual interest and texture, but you can do much, much more! Yesterday, Keia Shipp-Smith showed us how to use embossing paste with our folders to create some amazing faux backgrounds. Today, Kerri Michaud shows us how watercolor can really change things up when using embossing folders! Check it out…
A note from Kerri:
I have a fun little tutorial today sharing one technique you can use to color your embossed images. Watercolor!
I started by embossing a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” watercolor paper with the Streamers Embossing Folder.
I then began coloring my streamers using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Markers along with the Zig Medium Watercolor Brush to blend my colors.
I continued coloring until all of the raised streamers were colored. The three colors I chose were Light Blue, Light Pink, and Light Green.
After I finished coloring my embossed scene, I used the Presents Cutting Plate to cut a piece of Peapod Cardstokc, and then layered some Cookie Monster Cardstock and Strawberry Milkshake Cardstock behind the gifts.
I placed the die cut gifts and frame over my embossed scene.
To complete my scene, I used the celebrate word die from the Celebrate Freedom Banner Die Set to cut a piece of Poppy SeedCardstock.
Finally, I added a few TE Rainbow Brights Sequins and some Stardust Stickles to the gifts for a little sparkle and it was complete!
Thank you so much, Kerri, for sharing this super fun technique with us today! You can find more of her awesome work on her blog, Cards By Kerri. Tune in again tomorrow as we get another look at what you can do with our Embossing Folders! Have a joyful day!
