Spook-tacular Cards Week: The House on the Hill
Hello there, Friday friends! It’s been a terribly fun week here on the TE Blog, what with me getting to show off all these spookilicious Halloween cards! I’m rounding out the week with another winner from our resident scream queen, Shannon White! You know that creepy house that your friends always dared each other to walk past at night? Well, Shannon has re-created one that is super easy to make, but will have you shrieking with delight! Check it out…
Notes from Shannon about her project…
Every year I love sending out fun, spooky, Halloween cards to friends and family. And TE’s 13 Dead End Drive Die has been a total lifesaver for those years I’ve needed something super quick and easy to put together something fabulous when I’m short on time. (And I am ALWAYS short on time!) This die has been a favorite of mine and a lot of other cardmakers who love Halloween as much as I do!
I started off by creating my spooky night sky background using TE’s Premium Watercolor Cardstock and my handy dandy Distress Markers using this fun technique from my design teammate Jen Shults. You can find it HERE. Once my background was completely dry, I topped it off with my 13 Dead End Drive die-cut and framed it up with the help of TE’s Ornate Frame Cutting Plate and Matched Premium Oreo Cardstock. I placed a sheet from the Playful Patterns Haunted 6×6 Paper Pack as well for some color and pattern contrast. I adhered it all to a Toffee Matched Premium Cardstock card base after inking the edges with a touch of Oreo Matched Premium Ink. And there you have it: a super quick and easy spooky Halloween card to make you are short on time!
Thank you, Shannon, for sharing this Halloween card! I love that Distress Marker background, don’t you? I can’t wait to try it out this weekend. Have a joyful and creative weekend, friends!
