Big Bold Birthday Balloons!
Hello! Welcome back to our 10th birthday celebration! Today the Creative Team and I are sharing more inspiration designed with the new products released as part of our Mini Release – Mega Party! If you’re just joining in the fun today, then you can find all of the new goodies here at the TE webstore. And you’ll want to know about our special party favors before you shop:
Now I wanted to tell you a little bit more about one of my favorite projects that I created for this release. It’s really quite simple and yet such a fun and colorful birthday card. And it’s ROYGBIV…. my favorite!
To start I cut my Sugar Cube cardstock to the finished size of 4 x 5.25″. I decided I wanted my lineup of balloons to use two of the shapes from the Big Bold Balloons stencil; the round and the oblong. TIP: I cut my stencil in half in both directions. The material is easy to cut with a paper trimmer and then you’re left with 4 separate squares each with a different design. In my opinion, that makes it easier to use only the shape you want and position it better in the place you want.
After stenciling the balloons in all the colors of the rainbow (my ROYGBIV selection almost always includes Cherry Pop, Candy Corn, Lemon Meringue, Granny Smith, Cookie Monster, and Jelly Donut – this time also adding Lollipop and Salt Water Taffy, I cut the new Celebrate Script into the center of the balloons – making sure I saved the little pieces that fall from inside the letters (like the e’s and the l, and the b, and the a). Then I cut 4 additional Celebrate Script dies from Oreo cardstock. I built up the layers of Oreo cardstock within the cutout area and topped it off with the original die cut piece to create the eclipse element. It was easy to finish off with balloon strings and a sentiment embossed on vellum!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hop around to check out what the rest of the designers have been up to!
