One Product Three Ways With Angelica Conrad
Hey, crafty friends! Are you a clean and simple crafter or a crafter who likes lots of layers and details? I think I personally fall somewhere in-between the two, but sometimes wish I could be more successful with clean and simple designs. Clean and simple designs look… well pretty simple and easy, but in reality sometimes those designs can take the longest to put together!
One thing I love about the Taylored Expressions Creative Team is the range of designs that each of the individual designers bring to the table. I am always inspired by the team to try new styles that are different from what I normally would create! This week a few of us are sharing projects using One Product Three Ways. We took one product (a stamp set or die) and created 3 projects to show you how you can use that product at least 3 different ways.
Today, I have 3 projects to share with you created by Angelica Conrad using the Bloom Where You’re Planted die collection. She put together 3 clean and simple card designs to share that incorporate a number of techniques.
If you order any of the featured products now through March 17th for One Product Three Ways (today we are featuring the Bloom Where You’re Planted die collection), you will receive a coupon to use for FREE shipping on a future order over $25 through April 30, 2019!
Angelica’s first project with the Bloom Where You’re Planted die collection has a definite “flower power” feel to it with the fun flower silhouettes and pink and orange colors! To create this bright and fun background, the flowers are die cut from Stamping Mask Paper and attached in a random pattern onto a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock.
Angelica added color over the masked flowers using pink and orange inks with an ink blending tool. Once the background is blended, remove the flower masks to reveal the background design. The sentiment is from the Whole Llama Love stamp set and is perfect for this fabulous card! What a fun card to deliver to brighten someone’s day!
This next card is another clean and simple design with the Bloom Where You’re Planted die collection. The flowers and leaves are die cut from different colors of cardstock and then have shading on them added with the same coordinating color of ink. Adding just a bit of shading really adds dimension to assembled die cut images like this!
The assembled flower is framed with an Inside Scallop Circle Stacklets die and Angelica added a soft cloud background created with the Set the Scene – Clouds stencil strips behind it. The “thinking of you” sentiment from the Just My Type stamp set finishes off this soft and pretty card.
On this final card, Angelica used an inlay die technique with the Bloom Where You’re Planted die collection. She die cut the flower multiple times in a random pattern from Sugar Cube cardstock and then reset the die cut pieces back into their die cut openings.
What a simple technique that has really quite stunning results! Angelica used just one color of cardstock, but you could easily add multiple colors to change the look and feel of this card pretty quickly! The sentiment from The Inside Scoop – Birthday stamp set is embossed in white on a piece of Oreo cardstock to really make it stand out on the card.
Angelica shared 3 clean and simple designs using the Bloom Where You’re Planted die collection that used 3 different techniques:
- Die cutting shapes from masking paper and adding an ink blended background over them.
- Die cutting elements from different colors of cardstock and adding shading with the same coordinating color of ink.
- Using an inlay die cutting technique with one color of cardstock.
