One Product Three Ways With Noriko Fairchild
Hey, crafty friends! Do you have a card stash that is so well curated that when you need a card you can just grab one from that stash at a moments notice? Or do you end up making a card at the last minute 10 minutes before you have to walk out the door to go to an event? Actually, I think we have all been in both places at some point or another!
When I sit down to stamp, I like to check for gaps in my stash so that I can figure out what themes to focus on with my card making. It’s really great when I have a stamp set or die that will work for different occasions or themes that I need to craft for. Those products help build my card stash for sure! The Taylored Expressions Creative Team is a great source on inspiration for different ways that you can use products that are available in the Taylored Expressions webstore. This week a few of us are sharing projects using One Product Three Ways. We took one product (a stamp set or die) and created 3 projects to show you how you can use that product at least 3 different ways.

Today, I have 3 festive projects to share from Noriko Fairchild that she created with the Presents Cutting Plate die. This die is perfect for so many different gift giving occasions and Noriko has ideas to share for 3 of them.
Also, don’t forget that if you order any of the featured products now through March 17th for One Product Three Ways (today we are featuring the Presents Cutting Plate die), you will receive a coupon to use for FREE shipping on a future order over $25 through April 30, 2019!

The occasions that Noriko covered with her ideas today are (from left to right) Christmas, birthday, and wedding. The Presents Cutting Plate die has a framed stack of presents that is especially festive with stripes, dots, and lots of ribbon! These projects using the Presents Cutting Plate die are a great way to add these different themes to your card stash!

Let’s take a closer look at the birthday card that Noriko created with the Presents Cutting Plate die. She used the die to create a festive shaker card with lots of sequins and confetti layered over a polka dot patterned paper background.
Noriko stamped a twinkly star pattern over the cutting plate with the Twinkle Twinkle Background stamp and added brightly colored cardstock colors behind the presents. She used The Inside Scoop – Birthday stamp set to add the sentiment to the front of her card on a strip of vellum and another sentiment from the set for the inside of the card. This next card from Noriko created with the Presents Cutting Plate die is perfect for a wedding. This time, Noriko used just Sugar Cube cardstock and added a background that she embossed in white with the Happy Flowers Background stamp. I love the elegant tone on tone texture from the white embossed on white!
The “congratulations” sentiment is added onto the card on a strip of vellum cardstock with a coordinating sentiment stamped inside the card for the newly married couple. If you are wondering where these sentiments are from… stop back for our April release that is coming up in a few weeks! *wink!* I also love how Noriko added another die cut layer with the Presents Cutting Plate die to the inside of the card. This final card from Noriko using the Presents Cutting Plate die is ready to go for the holidays. Noriko added glitter to the presents for an extra fun and sparkly effect! She layered the die cut over a festive plaid patterned paper and then added cardstock behind the presents to coordinate with the colors in the patterned paper.
The “Merry Christmas” sentiment from The Inside Scoop – Christmas is added to the front of the card on a strip of vellum and a coordinating sentiment from the set is added to the card’s inside. Click any of the photos to see them larger.

I just love how Noriko transformed the Present Cutting Plate die for different occasions. I definitely need to add the Presents Cutting Plate die to my shopping list! Here are some of the ideas that Noriko shared:
- Stamping a pattern onto the die cut.
- Using the die cut to create a shaker card.
- Using one color for all layers and elements for an elegant tone on tone look.
- Adding glitter to a portion of the die cut.
- Layering patterned paper and colored cardstock behind the die cut.
- Using the die cut on the inside of a card.
- Using the die cut for a number of different occasions.
