Now let’s get started with the inspiration for today. I decided to sit down with the new In Your Corner stamp set and coordinating {Boxed In} Corners pre-printed borders to create this fresh, bright bunch of cards!
In the video below I’ll walk you through how easy it is to stamp the seasonal corner elements within the pre-printed doodle border panels. I’ll also share how I stepped up this set of cards with a shimmery foil element and added extra shine with our new Drip Drop embellishments:
The Boxed In – Corners are offered in a pack of 12 pre-printed panels sized 4″x5.25″ (the perfect size to layer onto an A2 card front). There are two panels each of 6 unique designs. Half of the panels have two open corners while the other half of the panels have just one open corner. Setting up the stamp to create the corner floral is easy with the help of the MISTI!
After stamping the images, I colored them all with Copic markers and then used my Minc and Deco foil to make the outer pre-printed border a shiny silver. I finished off each card with a variety of Drip Drops and this simple set is ready to gift or send out (I haven’t decided which yet!).

And now let’s jump into the inspiration that we have from the TE Creative Team and finish rounding up the new products for this January release!
Let’s start off with the new Flip the Script – Love set and Heart to Heart stencil. The Flip the Script – Love stamp & die combo set features the cutest hot air balloon with the ‘love is in the air’ sentiment etched into the balloon portion of the design. The set pairs perfectly with the Heart to Heart stencil that features falling hearts in various sizes.
Jill Hawkins paired these two products together to create this sweet Valentine card. I love how she stenciled the clouds with Cupcake ink using the Set the Scene – Clouds stencil strips and then stenciled the Heart to Heart stencil over the top of the cloud using the same color. She created the cutest hot air balloon by inking the die-cut from the Flip the Script – Love set with Confetti Cake and Toffee inks. She stamped the sentiment on the balloon portion of the die-cut and added a bit of burlap twine tied where the top of the balloon meets the basket.
So many of you have shared your excitement in seeing two new additions to the Masking Stencils line up: Masking Stencils – Hexagons and Masking Stencils – Hearts. Each Masking Stencil collection includes two sizes of each shape and the stencils include an etched alignment guide to make lining up and centering the shapes on your A2 projects super simple! The reverse mask for each shape is also included, giving you even more masking possibilities!
We are also excited to make an addition to our Handlettered sentiment collection with the new Handlettered Love stamp set. These whimsical and fun hand-scripted sentiments are perfect for adding to your Valentine projects and for cards to send to loved ones at any time of the year.
Keia Shipp-Smith created a card that is out of this world using the new Masking Stencils – Hexagons collection! She created a literal galaxy in the hexagon using several colors of ink and the rainbow Blender Brushes. The ‘love you to the moon & back’ sentiment from the Handlettered Love stamp set is absolutely perfect for this card. I might just have to try my hand at blending up a galaxy of my own!
I love how Jen Shults used both sizes of hearts from the Masking Stencils – Hearts collection together on her clean and simple Valentine card. You could do this with any of the Masking Stencil shapes and even layer different shapes on each other. Jen finished off her card by embossing the ‘you are loved’ sentiment over the stenciled hearts using silver embossing powder.
Next up is the Banner Year – Love stamp & die combo set. Like the other Banner Year sets, this set includes a banner, patterned blocks that you can add to the banner die-cut, hearts, Valentine/love themed sentiments, and the letters to spell out the word ‘love’ on your projects. You can mix and match the elements of the Banner Year – Love set with the other Banner Year sets.
Melody Rupple went red and white with her Valentine card using Banner Year – Love and I couldn’t love it more! She added her banner layered over a stenciled heart and spelled out ‘love’ using the die-cut letters. My favorite detail is how Melody layered the heart die cuts and added them to each end of the banner.
Here’s a look at how you can use the Banner Year – Love set without the banner elements! Keia Shipp-Smith added the ‘love’ word die cut with different colors of cardstock over a heart that she stenciled using the new Masking Stencils – Hearts collection. I love that she added a Bits & Pieces – Have a Heart embellishment into the center of the ‘O’ and embossed the ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ sentiment in white. It’s the fun details like this that can take your project to the next level!
Isn’t the new addition to the Inky Fingers collection just the cutest? The new Inky Fingers – Valentine stamp set features cute bugs and other critters that come to life with a fingerprint for a body. It’s a set perfect for crafting along with the kiddos in your life to create Valentines and other projects!
Keia Shipp-Smith created a cute as can be patterned paper using the owl and coordinating sentiment from the Inky Fingers – Valentine stamp set. She even masked off the eyes so that they would stay white when she stamped the body of the owl with her fingerprint!
Finally for this release are the new additions to the Mini Strips collection: the Mini Strips – Valentine stamp set and Mini Strips – Asymmetrical die. The die cuts out all 10 sentiments in one pass and has asymmetrical angles at the end of each strip. The new asymmetrical die coordinates with all previously released versions of Mini Strips too!
There’s no such thing as too many sentiment strips on one card, right!? Melody Rupple stacked up several sentiments from the Mini Strips – Valentine stamp on this Valentine card that she embossed in gold on Cherry Pop cardstock.
And that’s a wrap on our January release! We have more Valentine inspiration coming your way next week on the blog, so make sure you stop by and check it out. For now, check out even more amazing inspiration from the rest of the Creative Team!
