NEW! Simple Strips & Mini Strips Backer Dies!
Hey, crafty friends! I am sure you have heard the rumors… and they are TRUE! We are excited today to announce the new Simple Strips Backer and Mini Strips Backer dies that are available to purchase right now in the Taylored Expressions webstore. I have inspiration to share with you this week using the new dies starting today with a fun birthday card set from Taylor using the new Simple Strips Backer die. Before we get to that though, let’s take a closer look at the new dies!
The new Simple Strips Backer and Mini Strips Backer dies are sized to coordinate with the original Simple Strips and Mini Strips dies. The new dies cut out a shape that gives you a 1/16″ border around the edges of the original Simple Strips and Mini Strips die cuts. The new dies are our Mixed Media dies which means they have a deeper cutting edge that allows you to cut out thicker materials like multiple layers of cardstock, felt, and more!
Here’s a closer look at a set of the Simple Strips die cuts, the new Simple Strips Backer die cuts, and the two different die cuts layered together.
The Simple Strips Backer die will cut out 18 strips that coordinate with each of the sizes and shapes of the original Simple Strips die. Having this 1/16″ border option for your Simple Strips will help to draw that extra bit of attention and add more dimension to your projects.
Here’s a closer look at a set of the Mini Strips die cuts, the new Mini Strips Backer die cuts, and the two different die cuts layered together.
The Mini Strips Backer die will cut out 10 strips that coordinate with each of the shapes and sizes of the original Mini Strips die.

Taylor shares some tips and tricks that will be helpful for you to use the Simple Strips Backer and Mini Strips Backer dies in the video below:
Using the Simple Strips collection makes mass producing a bunch of cards at once so quick and easy. Taylor used the Simple Strips – Birthday stamp set and was able to stamp and die cut 18 birthday sentiments all at once using the coordinating Simple Strips die. She die cut the coordinating mats all at the same time for the sentiments using the new Simple Strips Backer die.
In the video, Taylor also shares how to using the Masking Stencils – Circles collection to create the card backgrounds paired with the Sweet Sprinkles Background stamp, add the die cut Caps Lock – Yay letters lined up perfectly, and assemble the cute emoji faces die cut with the Build an Emoji die collection for each card. If you are like me, your birthday card stash is always in need of new additions and I would LOVE adding this cute set of cards to mine!
Are you excited to add these new dies to your personal Simple Strips and Mini Strips collections? I will have more inspiration to share using the new Mini Strips Backer die a little later this week. Make sure you take time to stop by and check it out! Thank you so much for stopping by today!
