Alright, now onto the inspiration for today! In the video below, Emily Leiphart shares some tips, tricks, and ideas for using the Stencil Strips – Holiday set with Masking Stencils and the Merry Millie stamp set from our Christmas release last week.
In the video, Emily creates two holiday cards using the Stencil Strips – Holiday set. She adds the cute holiday borders to the backgrounds of her holiday projects that feature that cute mouse, Millie, from the new Merry Millie stamp set.
Here’s a closer look at the Stencil Strips – Holiday set:
Get ready to get festive this winter with our fun set of Stencil Strips – Holiday! With patterns of Nordic reindeer, diagonal stripes, polka dots, evergreen trees, the word “Joy” and snowflakes, the working portion of each stencil measures 1 1/2″ x 6 1/4″, making them ideal for use on both A2 and Mini Slim cards. The Stencil Strips – Holiday set includes 6 stencil strips. CLICK HERE for more information on how you can earn this set for FREE.
On this first card, Emily added the joy border to the top corner of her card background. She masked off the edges of her card with the Masking Stencils – Rectangles set and to do the stenciling inside the open area, Emily slid the stencil strips underneath the main masking stencil instead of layering them over the top. That is a great idea to make sure the stenciled images are bright and crisp right up to the edges of the masking stencil. I also love that Emily used the Set the Scene – Clouds Stencil Strips set to create snow drifts for Millie and her reindeer friend to stand on!
On this card, Emily used the trees from the Stencil Strips – Holiday set along with the Masking Stencils – Square Windows set. She used the 4 square stencil and added the trees on the bottom part of the openings to create a great window effect – it looks like a forest of pine trees outside – so fun!
Emily also shares a few other details that you don’t want to miss in her video like lining up the sentiments on her projects and adding shadows with Copic markers under Millie and Santa on the card on the right. Little tips and tricks like these are great for stepping up your card designs!
Check out the list below for the supplies that Emily used on her cards:
Here are a few more projects from members of the TE Creative Team that are created with the Stencil Strips – Holiday set:
Kavya used three of the stencils from the Stencil Strips – Holiday set on her cute Christmas card featuring the Merry Millie stamp set. She alternated two of the designs (the nordic star and reindeer) to create the card background and added highlight details using a white gel pen. The polka dot design is set into a circular frame die cut using the Stitched Frame Stacklets 2 die collection. It creates the perfect focal point for the main images on the card.
Many of the designs in the Stencil Strips – Holiday set can be used for other occasions like Jill Hawkins did on her card here! She used the joy stencil strip to create a bright and cheery rainbow colored background for the crabby unicorn that is a part of the Mythical Grumplings stamp set. This card totally makes me smile!
Alright, onto the apparel offering now available in the TE webstore:
