All the Sparkle and Shine and More for the New Year!
Hey, crafty friends! It’s Heather here! Do you love all the sparkle and shine? I definitely do. I have been pretty inspired by the foiling techniques and projects that seem to be popping up all over the place lately – did you see Taylor’s video on Tuesday? When you are creating projects to celebrate certain events and occasions, I love adding that special shimmery touch that steps things up. The project I am sharing on my video today combines a few techniques to add shimmer and shine: embossing and foiling. I am using one of the new products from this week’s release on my project that I am sharing today along with the Fireworks Stamp & Stencil Combo set that was released previously. I also have more inspiration to share from the TE Creative Team using products from this week’s release!
Before I get to the inspiration for today, I want to remind you about the promotion for this release (the set I using in my video today!):
Our previously released Fireworks Stamp & Stencil Combo is perfect for celebrating the New Year on your card projects! So if you haven’t grabbed yours yet, now is the time! Right now through Sunday, November 8th, you can purchase the Fireworks Stamp & Stencil Combo set for 15% off the regular retail price, while supplies last.

I used the Fireworks Stamp & Stencil Combo set to create this Happy New Year card and I packed it full of shimmer and shine. Watch the video below to see how I created this card from start to finish:
In the video, I share how I created a sparkly fireworks background using the Fireworks Stamp & Stencil combo set with a few techniques: stamping, stenciling, embossing, and foiling. I love the results and bet you will too!
For the sentiment on the card, I stamped the On the Block – Happy stamp using Oreo ink onto Poppy Seed cardstock before I added the background. I masked the stamped ‘happy’ using the On the Block – Happy Shadow die cut from stamping mask paper.
To complete the ‘happy new year’ sentiment, I used the new On Repeat – New Year stamp, stamped it with Oreo ink, and cut it out with the coordinating On Repeat die. It’s attached to my card with a foam sticky strip to pop it up a bit and then I added a few wooden stars from my personal stash scattered around the sentiment.
I created this project in a monochromatic color scheme so it would have a more sophisticated look, but you could easily change up the cardstock color and/or sentiment to customize your project for any occasion worth celebrating with sparkle and shine!
Check out the list below for the supplies that I used on this project:
Here’s another round up of inspiration from the TE Creative Team using products from this week’s release:
Jill Hawkins created a cute as can be shaker card to celebrate the New Year with the Party Popper Layered Stencil set. I love the pretty pastel color tones that she used on her confetti background! The shaker frame on the card is blended in pastel colors to match and Jill created that frame by combining one of the dies from the Petite Scallop Square Stacklets die collection with a die from the Mini Slim Trifold Template + Dies – Square set. Jill finished off her card with a few friends from the Life of the Party stamp set and a sentiment created with the new On Repeat – New Year stamp and Over the Rainbow stamp set.
I really like how Natasha Valkovskaya used the new The Right Angle Layered Stencil set on this card! She created the background using Blue Raspberry, Pineapple, and Sea Salt inks and then cut it into several pieces to layer onto her card front. She added the ‘let’s celebrate’ sentiment from the Tag Team – Birthday stamp set into one of the spaces between the stenciled pieces. This card design is so versatile for many occasions by changing out the sentiment and/or color combination!
Here’s another card featuring Big Grumpy and the new Big Grumpy Farewell 2020 Download created by Melody Rupple – if you didn’t know, the download is FREE! Big Grumpy is all in on celebrating that 2020 will be over soon and even put on his party hat! The background on Melody’s card is embossed in gold using just the star background stamp in the Fireworks Stamp & Stencil Combo set and she added a few ‘new year’ banners created with the new On Repeat – New Year stamp.
