Today’s inspiration comes from Mindy Eggen using products from the Farm Fresh Kit. Watch the video below to see how Mindy created these cute cow and pig cards:
In the video, Mindy shares how she colored the critters from the Farm Fresh Critters stamp set using Copic markers. She creates two different background ideas to add the farm scenes onto using different stamps and stencils. Mindy also shares a few tips for lining up your sentiments straight using acetate in the MISTI tool.
The background on this cute birthday card is created with the Fireworks Stamp & Stencil Combo set. Mindy stamped the star background in Pineapple ink and then used the stencils to add the fireworks using her Blender Brushes with Granny Smith and Sprinkles ink. You might think of using fireworks on only 4th of July projects, but they are fantastic for other celebrations like birthdays, New Years, and more!
For the background on this card, Mindy masked off a rectangle area using the Masking Stencils – Rectangles set. She created the ground with the Set the Scene – Grass Stencil Strips using Granny Smith and Peapod inks with her Blender Brushes. The sky is created with Sprinkles ink and the Breezy stencil.
To add a bit of fun to both cards, Mindy used the Mini Wobble Springs behind the heads on the critters. It’s so much fun to make the heads bobble and bounce!
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Mindy used on her Farm Fresh cards:
Now, let’s take a closer look at the individual products that we are releasing today from our kits, PLUS fresh inspiration from the TE Creative Team:
First up is the Farm Fresh Kit that we released last summer at the end of June. To get an up close look at the products included in the Farm Fresh Kit, CLICK HERE to see the release day post. Listed below are the items from the kit that are now available to purchase individually:
- Gingham Check Background stamp
- Farm Fresh stamp set
- Farm Fresh Critters stamp set
- Farm Fresh Critters die collection
- Set the Scene – Grass Stencil Strips set
The gang is all here on this birthday card ‘from the whole herd’ created by Heather Nichols. She added the horse, cow, and pig from the Farm Fresh Critters stamp set to a cute farm background stamped using with the barn and fence using Sugar Cube ink on Heather’s signature Toffee cardstock. Everyone is holding a balloon that is die cut with the Little Bit – Balloons die collection and attached to a burlap twine string. I love the card base background peeking out from behind the scene that is created with the Gingham Background stamp!
Kevin Bray is keeping the birthday theme going with this cute card featuring the cow from the Farm Fresh Critters stamp set! The cow is standing in a grassy patch created with the Set the Scene – Grass Stencil Strips set and holding balloons created with the Balloon Bouquet Additions stamp set (+ coordinating dies) I really love how Kevin altered the ‘hip hip hooray’ sentiment to ‘hip hip mooray’ by masking off the ‘H’ and stamping an ‘M’ in its place!
Latisha Yoast is rounding out the farm themed birthday celebration with this card created with the Farm Fresh Critters stamp set (+ coordinating dies). She paired it with the Tag Team – Birthday stamp set to add confetti tossed across the card and a fun birthday sentiment.
Next, is the Field Notes Kit that we originally released last August and again at the end of October. To get an up close look at the products included in the Field Notes Kit, CLICK HERE to see the release day post. Listed below are the items from the kit that are now available to purchase individually:
- Sketchbook Florals stamp set
- Sketchbook Florals die collection
- Field Notes stamp set
- Rough Draft Background stamp
- Masking Stencils – Frayed Edge Rectangles
Melody Rupple created a lovely project using the several different elements from the original Field Notes kit. She colored the flowers from the Sketchbook Florals stamp set and added them to a background created with the Masking Stencils – Frayed Edge Rectangles, the Field Notes stamp set, and the Rough Draft Background stamp. For a perfect match, cut out the stenciled shapes created with the Masking Stencils – Frayed Edge Rectangles set using the Frayed Edge Stacklets dies. The sentiment is stamped on the tiny tag die cut from the Sketchbook Florals die collection and tied onto Melody’s card using burlap twine.
Arjita Sepaha Singh let her no-line coloring skills shine using the Sketchbook Florals stamp set. She stamped the image using a light colored ink (Sea Salt is a great choice for this technique) and added color to the image using watercolor paints. I see a familiar stamped background on the card base! Arjita stamped the Gingham Background stamp, originally from the Farm Fresh Kit, using Toffee ink on a Toffee cardstock base.
The Masking Stencils – Frayed Edge Rectangles set is a great basic that you will reach for to use with many other stamps in your own collection. Natasha Valkovskaya created the perfect blended background for the outline tree from the Modern Tree Stamp & Stencil Combo set, layering both of the rectangles sizes. The ‘give thanks’ sentiment from the Handlettered Thanksgiving stamp set is embossed in gold on a piece vellum and layered across the card design.
Finally, is the Hey There Kit that we originally released at the end on September. To get an up close look at the products included in the Hey There Kit, CLICK HERE to see the release day post. Listed below are the items from the kit that are now available to purchase individually:
- Hey There Stamp & Stencil Combo set
- Hey There Shadow die
- Hey There Sunshine stencil
- Dotty Ray stencil
- Good Vibes stamp set
Here’s a fresh new card created with the elements of the original Hey There Kit by Melody Rupple. She added the ‘hey there’ sentiment stamped and stenciled with the Hey There Stamp & Stencil Combo set to the coordinating Hey There Shadow die cut and then layered it on another Oreo cardstock die cut, offsetting it a bit to create even more dimension. The background behind the sentiment is stenciled with the Hey There Sunshine stencil and Melody added the ‘just checking in…’ sentiment from the Good Vibes stamp set underneath the ‘hey there’ sentiment.
Noriko Fairchild used the Dotty Ray stencil to create this fun and crafty card. She stamped the sentiment from the Hey, Crafty Friend stamp set centered between the rainbow blended dot rays. The background of the card is stamped with the Art From the Heart Background on Sugar Cube cardstock using Sea Salt ink. Please note that this background stamp was our incentive stamp from this past August and is not currently available at this time. You can substitute any other background stamp or stamp sets to create a fun background for these crafty cards!
This set of Mini Slim cards by Jill Hawkins are perfect for sending out good vibes! Jill added the sentiments from the Good Vibes stamp set into brightly color blocked frames that she created with the Stitched Mini Slim Stacklets dies and a window die from the Mini Slim Trifold Template + Dies Square set. These clean and simple cards include several great details that step up the look: Bits & Pieces – Clear Drip Drops, embossed lines, and Jill’s signature stitching!
Today, I’ll be sharing a closer look at the individual kit products that you can now purchase individually during “T Time” at 1PM Central Time on the Taylored Expressions Facebook Page and would love to have you join me! If you miss the live broadcast, it will be available to view afterward. I hope to see you there!
