Valentine Release – Love You Bunches!
Hey, crafty friends! Happy New Year! I hope you’re all enjoying the much anticipated start of 2021! It’s Taylor here today and I’m super excited because another holiday that makes it perfectly normal to eat candy for lunch is right around the corner! Valentine’s Day is all about giving goodies to the ones you love, and whether that’s a sweet treat or a handmade card, we’ve got lots of new products to share in our Valentine Release!
Lots of love went into creating these products and the Creative Team and I have been busy designing new projects with the new Valentine-themed products! This release includes 20 new products including new stamps, dies, 2 new layered stencil sets, a new set of stencil strips, Bits & Pieces – Hearts (remember these from the Like Gnome Other Kit?), and pre-cut valentine treat boxes!
Here’s what you’ll find on the blog this week:
- Our blog posts (Monday – Thursday) will feature a video showcasing the new release products.
- New products will be available for purchase starting tomorrow at 9am Central Time at the TE webstore!
- Get a chance to win it before you can buy it by commenting with your answer to my Question of the Day today only (located at the bottom of this blog post)
- Last, but certainly not least – take advantage of our special offer for this release (details below).
Right now through Sunday, January 10th (or while supplies last), you can get the Hearts a Plenty bundle for 15% off! The bundle includes the Hearts a Plenty Cling & Clear Combo set, the Hearts a Plenty die, and the Fill in the Blank – Love Cling & Clear Combo set. The discounted bundle price is only available through Sunday, January 10th.
In the video below, I used all of the products included in our Hearts a Plenty bundle to create a fun and colorful Valentine!
I started by stamping the solid hearts in several different colors. This can be achieved easily using mini ink cubes to ink each of the hearts individually. I set up the clear patterned stamps over the top of the solid hearts and used the same color ink on each of the individual hearts for a tone on tone look. The only one that’s not tone on tone are the Watermelon hearts which were stamped with Sugar Cube ink.
After finishing the background, I stamped the word ‘love’ from the Fill in the Blank set with Oreo ink. Each of the words in this set is missing a letter or icon which is intended to be replaced with one of the hearts from the background stamp. I added on the phrase ‘you lots’ to finish off the sentiment as LOVE you lots!
Now that I’ve shared my project, it’s time to settle in and take a peek at all of the new Valentine release products along with inspiration from the TE Creative Team!
You just saw the Hearts a Plenty Cling & Clear Combo set in the video above! Use the cling background to stamp the solid hearts and then add patterns to the hearts using the clear set. Create a whole background or use the coordinating die to cut out individual hearts to use on your projects.
The new Fill in the Blank – Love Cling & Clear Combo set includes three large sentiments that are all missing a letter/symbol. Simply fill the open space with a heart created with the Hearts a Plenty Cling & Clear Combo set (+ coordinating die), or another image from your collection. Complete the sentiments with the photopolymer stamp set that includes seven coordinating words and phrases.
The new Heart of Hearts Layered Stencil set includes two stencils to create a heart filled background on your projects. There is one larger heart in the center that is perfectly sized to place a sentiment or image. Some of the hearts in the stenciled design are also sized to match the patterned clear stamps from the Hearts a Plenty Cling & Clear Combo set for even more possibilities!
Laurie Willison used just the stencil with smaller hearts from the Heart of Hearts Layered Stencil set to create the background on this sweet Valentine card. She stenciled the hearts with Sugar Cube ink on Toffee cardstock and then added patterned hearts, that are stamped and die cut using the Hearts a Plenty Cling & Clear Combo and coordinating die, scattered throughout the design. The ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ sentiment is from the Handlettered Love stamp set.
Emily Mydlowski cleverly created a whole background design with the Fill in the Blank – Love set and Hearts a Plenty Cling & Clear Combo set. She stamped the ‘XOXO’ repeatedly down her card front, flipping it back and forth to alternate the letters, and added the hearts to fill in the ‘O’s. The ‘hugs & kisses’ sentiment is from the clear stamps included with the Fill in the Blank set. She embossed it in white on an Oreo cardstock strip.
Annette Allen used different shades of purple inks to create the background on this love-themed card with the Heart of Hearts Layered Stencil set. I love how she added splatters to the hearts while the stencil layers were still in place. It adds a great textured detail! The ombre ‘love’ word and ‘love you bunches’ sentiment on the card is created with more new products that you’ll learn about below.
When you are thinking about sentiments for your Valentine and love themed projects, these new sentiment stamp sets and dies are must haves:
We’re adding to the On the Block collection with the new On the Block – Love stamp and coordinating On the Block – Love Shadow die. The sans-serif block letters slightly overlap and are not perfectly aligned, adding a whimsical charm to the word.
A perfect companion to the On the Block – Love stamp is the new Building Blocks – Love Additions. Building Blocks – Love Additions includes 22 words and phrases that work perfectly together to create sentiments for any Valentine or love themed stamps and stencils. Cut out all 22 words and phrases with one pass through your die cut machine using the coordinating Building Blocks die.
The Handlettered Love Dies coordinate with our previously released Handlettered Love stamp set (sold separately) to perfectly set off the sentiments on your projects.
Gayatri Murali stamped the On the Block – Love stamp several times in variations with Lollipop and Candy Corn inks and layered them over a blended background stamped with the Hearts a Plenty Background stamp. I love the peeks of glitter that Gayatri added by using gold glitter cardstock to die cut the On the Block – Love Shadow die and layer it behind the stamped words. The ‘you to pieces’ phrase and ‘mwah’ word are stamped and embossed in white using the Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp and added in-between the ‘love’ words. The scattered Bits & Pieces – White Rhinestones are the perfect sparkly touch to finish it off!
Melody Rupple used the new Handlettered Love dies to cut out the ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ sentiment on this card featuring the Hearts a Plenty Cling & Clear Combo set. I love all of the reds and pinks in the traditional Valentine color scheme she chose. Melody always adds great details to her cards like the hearts popped up around the sentiments and the vellum circle behind the sentiment to help it stand apart from the background.
Next up is are two new stamp sets featuring some of our favorite critters:
Back by popular demand is the cutest duo, Max & Millie! This time they’re spreading the love in the Love from Max & Millie stamp set (+ coordinating dies). The set includes four images along with five coordinating sentiments to create the sweetest Valentine projects.
Gus & Gertie are also making another appearance in the new Gus & Gertie Ride On stamp set (+ coordinating dies). The set includes three images; Gus & Gertie in a car, on a skateboard, and in a paper boat along with 5 coordinating sentiments.
Kavya created the sweetest scene on this Mini Slim Galentine’s Day card using the Love from Max & Millie stamp set. She colored the images on Max & Millie floating in the air using Copic markers and added them to a pink heart sky with die cut clouds. The stencil Kavya used for the background is also new for this release – keep scrolling to learn more about it!
Jill Hawkins always delivers on cute and whimsical and definitely hit the mark with this card created with the new Gus & Gertie Ride On stamp set. Gus and Gertie are doing loop de loops in the cute circle shaker element that Jill created for them! The opening for the shaker card is created with the Stitched Circle Stacklets die collection and is filled with beads and Bits & Pieces – Full of Heart confetti.
Stencils are a top favorite to add backgrounds and details to your projects. We have several new selections making their debut this week that are perfect for Valentine projects and more:
The new Half a Heart Layered Stencil set includes three stencils that layer together to create a colorful pattern of two toned hearts. Make backgrounds for Valentine-themed projects with traditional reds and pinks or choose other color combinations to use for a number of other occasions.
Add the perfect touches to your Valentine projects and more with our fun Stencil Strips – Love set! With patterns of hearts, stripes, polka dots, the word “love”, an “xoxo” pattern, and chevrons, the working portion of each stencil measures 1 1/2″ x 6 1/4″, making them ideal for use on both A2 and Mini Slim cards. The Stencil Strips – Love set includes 6 stencil designs.
Our Mini Slim Designer Stencils are specially designed to work with our Mini Slim sized cards (3.5″ x 6″). The new Mini Slim Swiss Heart stencil is perfect for cards to celebrate love, Valentine’s Day, and more. The pattern of classic, uniformly sized hearts can be used for both elegant and whimsical designs.
I really love this unexpected color combination that Natasha Valkovskaya did on her card created with the Half a Heart Layered stencils. She used Candy Corn, Blue Raspberry, and Blueberry inks. I definitely plan on using this color combo for a future project! She layered the stenciled background onto a Blue Raspberry card base and added the ‘love you to pieces’ sentiment from the Handlettered Love stamp set embossed in gold on a layer of vellum.
Sometimes you need just a border of pattern on your project and the Stencil Strips – Love set is perfect for that as Kevin Bray shows on this snarky Valentine’s Day Mini Slim card. He stenciled the ‘xoxo’ pattern in Sugar Cube ink on Oreo cardstock for the background behind the cute image of Max in his wings and heart antennae. The sarcastic ‘I guess you’ll do’ sentiment is embossed in white on a Lollipop cardstock strip.
Noriko Fairchild brought out a rainbow of colors to use with the Mini Slim Swiss Hearts stencil. She laid down lighter ink tones using her Blender Brushes on Sugar Cube cardstock and then added the hearts in darker tones over the top. It’s a a dreamy look that goes perfectly with the ‘love you to the moon & back’ sentiment from the Handlettered Love stamp set that is embossed in white on Oreo cardstock and cut out with the coordinating dies.
Next up, we’re adding a few new products to popular collections in the TE webstore:
Create adorable tags to celebrate all things Valentine with the Tag Team – Valentine clear stamp set and the coordinating Tag Team dies. The set includes Valentine and love themed sentiments along with several small images and three pattern blocks designed to embellish the end of the tags.
The new Pennant Parade – Valentine clear stamp set coordinates with the previously release Pennant Parade Cling & Clear Combo stamp set. There are 5 new Valentine-themed pennants along with seven sentiments that you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again. We are also releasing the new Pennant Parade dies to perfectly cut out the patterned pennants and arrange them however you’d like. There are three dies included in the set to make it easier to cut out multiple pennants at one time!
Heather Nichols created a pile of tags using the Tag Team – Valentine stamp set and coordinating Tag Team dies. These tags are quick and easy to make and they’re perfect for tying to Valentine treat bags, boxes, and more. Heather used burlap twine to tie her tags to scalloped treat boxes that she stenciled using the new Mini Slim Swiss Hearts stencil. The pre-cut treat boxes featured here will be available for you to purchase tomorrow – keep scrolling to learn more!
Melody Rupple stamped the patterned pennants from the Pennant Parade – Valentine stamp set in Cherry Pop, Confetti Cake, and Strawberry Milkshake inks and cut them out with the new Pennant Parade dies. She added them over the pennants in the Pennant Parade Cling & Clear Combo set to create the fun and festive background on this Valentine’s Day card featuring Millie from the Love from Millie & Max stamp set.
Finally for today, here are a few extra Valentine essentials we are excited to add to the shop:
Do you remember the cute heart embellishments that were offered as part of the Like Gnome Other Kit? Now you can purchase them separately! Bits & Pieces – Hearts is an easy way to add a bit of extra love on your cards or works great as a shaker card filler. The confetti consists of tiny red, pink, and white clay hearts.
Treat boxes are made easy with our pre-cut Scalloped Treat Bag – Valentine set. These easily fold into the cutest little treat boxes that include pre-punched holes to thread ribbon or twine for a closure. Add decoration to the boxes with stamps, stencils, and more!
