A Rainbow of Possibilities with the NEW Happy Hex Monogram Kit!
Hey, crafty friends! It’s Heather here with another day of inspiration to share with you using the new Happy Hex Monogram Kit. Who knew little hexagons could be so much fun and have so many possibilities, right? Today, I have a new video to share from Emily Leiphart and if you love rainbows and sparkle you will love what she has to share. I also have a few more projects to share from the TE Creative Team that are definitely rainbow inspired!
There is a limited supply of the Happy Hex Kits available, so make sure to pick up a kit soon if you are interested. Click below to shop and then keep scrolling for the projects and inspiration!
Today’s video is from Emily Leiphart and she is sharing how to create this rainbow set of Mini Slim cards and coordinating envelope seals with the Happy Hex Monogram Kit. Watch below to see how the cards came together and how Emily packaged them up for a gift below:
In the video, Emily shares the contents of the Happy Hex Monogram Kit and shows how she created a gift set of cards using the kit. She embosses the Happy Hex Mini Slim Background onto the card bases, blends a rainbow of colors to add the mini hexagons into the embossed pattern, adds details and sentiments stamped with the Happy Hex Add-ons stamp set, stamps sentiments on the envelope seals with Stazon ink, shares how to put together the clear box to package them up, and how to add the Mini Slim Belly Band around the clear box.
*Please note that the Mini Slim Belly Band is sold separately from the Happy Hex Monogram Kit.
I love Emily’s choice to emboss the Happy Hex Mini Slim Background with Diamond embossing powder. The image is subtle, but has texture, shine, and sparkle! Emily overlapped ink colors when she did the rainbow blend with the Happy Hex Mini Slim stencil and then stamped the smaller images into some of the hexagons with coordinating ink colors. It’s such a fun and playful look!
This gift package of notecards includes the sentiments ‘oh happy day’, ‘thank you’, and ‘I miss you’ and Emily also stamped the same sentiments onto the envelope seals so that everything coordinates. Emily packaged them up in the clear box with the Mini Slim Belly Band that she added a monogram on to personalize the gift.
Check out the list below for the supplies that Emily used for this project:
Here’s even more rainbow inspired inspiration from the TE Creative Team using the Happy Hex Monogram Kit:
Annette Allen used all the colors of the rainbow for this set of Mini Slim cards created with the Happy Hex Monogram Kit. She stamped each card in a different color of the rainbow (and to match the included envelopes) using the Happy Hex Mini Slim Background stamp. She added coordinating details to the background image on each card in different ways using the stamps, stencil, and/or die cuts from the kit. I love how her gift set includes some card with sentiments and some with the recipients monogram on them.
Latisha Yoast stamped a rainbow of hexagons on this Mini Slim ‘miss you’ card. She stamped the larger hexagon frame from the Happy Hex Add-ons stamp set in a number of colors and then stamped the smaller hexagon patterns into them, matching the ink color to the frame. This quick and easy card design is finished off with Latisha’s signature twine bow at the top.
Laurie Willison is the queen of fantastic clean and simple design and this card set is no exception. She used the Happy Hex Mini Slim stencil to create the background on her cards, matching the ink color to the envelopes in the kit. Look closely and you will also see that Laurie added embossed lines down each card front for that extra punch of texture. She added the ‘W’ monogram to each card to finish off this classy card set.
I love the way that Natasha Valkovskaya added the rainbow effect to this card pair created with the Happy Hex Monogram Kit. The rainbow color gradient starts at the top left of the card and moves down to the bottom left corner of the card. She added the colors to the background image using either the Happy Hex Mini Slim stencil or patterns from the Happy Hex Add-ons stamp set. She finished the cards off by stamping the frame and sentiments into the larger opening on the background pattern.
The bright rainbow colors really pop on this Mini Slim card created by Arjita Sepaha Singh. She stamped the background using Sea Salt ink with the Happy Hex Mini Slim Background stamp and then used the Happy Hex Mini Slim stencil, offset a bit from the original design, to add the colorful mini hexagons. She added texture to the colorful hexagons by stamping one of the lined patterns from the Happy Hex Add-ons stamp set over the hexagon in the same color of ink for a tone on tone effect. Arjita finished things off with a bit of sparkle by adding glitter to the colorful hexagons.
Noriko Fairchild created rainbow blends in three different ways on this set of Mini Slim cards created with the Happy Hex Monogram Kit. For the card on the left she did a rainbow blend on the Sugar Cube cardstock background, for the card in the center she did the rainbow blend through the Happy Hex Mini Slim stencil, and for the card on the right she inked the Happy Hex Mini Slim Background stamp with multiple colors before stamping it onto Sugar Cube cardstock. She stamped the additional elements on the cards in Oreo ink and that ties all of the designs together in the set.
