Hey, crafty friends! It’s Taylor here today! Happy Groundhogs Day! Let’s hope that groundhog sees no sign of his shadow because I am ready for spring (yes, I realize it’s only February 2nd, but c’mon spring!).
It’s been a bit since we explored the St. Patrick’s Day theme with new cardmaking products and today I’m excited to show you our curated collection of St. Pat’s goodies! The Cling & Clear set features adorable little leprechauns while the Stamp & Stencil set features the symbol of luck and good fortune. Finish off either of these cards with a sentiment from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day set and a sparkly shamrock from our Little Bits – Shamrock dies (previously released) and you’re set to celebrate!

Today’s video from Heather Nichols shares how she created this St. Patrick’s Day card using the new Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set (+ coordinating die and stencil) and sentiments from the new Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp.
In the video, Heather shares how she created a tone on tone background with the Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set and Lucky Leprechaun stencil. She stamped the leprechauns again on Sugar Cube cardstock with Oreo ink and added color using the included clear stamps. The sentiments on her project are from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp and cut out with the coordinating Mini Strips die. The card is embellished with shamrocks cut out with the Little Bits – Shamrocks dies from green glitter cardstock.
The tone on tone look is a great way to add a coordinating background to your projects! Heather used Granny Smith cardstock and ink on this project to stamp the background stamp from the Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set and add the shamrocks around the leprechauns using the coordinating stencil. You can create the same design with different background colors for different looks.
It’s easy to create multiples of this card design! The background gives you a whole bunch of leprechauns that are easy to cut out with the Leprechaun Head die and the Mini Strips stamp gives you a whole pile of sentiments with one impression and pass through your die cut machine. Stamp multiples of the card elements and then create an assembly line to put the cards together. You’ll have a pile of St. Patrick’s Day cards to share in no time!
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Heather used on her project:
Here is a closer look at the new products along with inspiration from the TE Creative Team:
St. Patrick’s Day wouldn’t be complete without a few lucky leprechauns as so we’ve featured them in our new Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set. The set includes a red rubber stamp featuring a pattern of leprechaun heads with fun facial expressions, beards, and top hats. The set includes 14 clear, photopolymer stamps to add color to the images, a few shamrocks, and coordinating sentiments. You can cut out any of the leprechauns from the background stamp using the Leprechaun Head die. Use the Lucky Leprechaun stencil to add shamrocks in between the leprechauns on the background.
Melody Rupple created a colorful background of leprechauns by stamping the background stamp in Oreo ink on Sugar Cube cardstock, adding color using the included clear stamp set, and then stenciling shamrocks in between them with the Lucky Leprechaun stencil. Melody die cut one leprechaun to feature in the center of her card along with several shamrocks cut out with the Little Bits – Shamrocks dies and a sentiment from the new Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp.
What shenanigans are these leprechauns up to on this St. Patrick’s Day card by Jill Hawkins?! She cut out several of the leprechauns and have them tumbling around the sentiment strip over a background that is stenciled with the Lucky Leprechauns stencil. Just shift the stencil around to create a filled in look! I love the extra details on this card including the embossed lines on the card base, Bits & Pieces – Clear Drip Drops, and Jill’s signature stitching.
Arjita Sepaha Singh is showing off her amazing no line watercoloring skills on this St. Patrick’s Day card. Arjita stamped the Lucky Leprechauns Cling & Clear Combo background stamp in a light ink tone, and then colored in the images with watercolors. This technique brings a whole new look to this set and maybe someday I can aspire to create something like this. I need a lot of practice before that happens! *wink!*
The Cap it Off Alpha dies make an appearance on this card by Kevin Bray. He used green glitter cardstock for the letter insets and Sugar Cube cardstock for the outlines to spell out the ‘good luck’ sentiment. I love how he added two of the leprechauns from the Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set in place of the ‘O’s in the word ‘good’ – so fun!
If you’re a fan of both stamping and stenciling, you’ll love our unique Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo! This set is an easy way to make a complex background that’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or other springtime celebrations! Simply stamp the background of leaf veins and dots, then use the etched guides on the first stencil as alignment guides to add the first layer of shamrocks and then do the same thing with the second stencil to add the second layer.
Noriko Fairchild created a whole background of shamrocks on this St. Patrick’s Day card with the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set and added a little bit of extra luck to the four leaved ones! After stenciling with the green ink color, she added Super Nova Stickles glitter gel to add the sparkle and shine. Noriko made the perfect sentiment choice using the ‘You’re in luck’ and ‘Shake your shamrock’ sentiments for this card!
It’s all about the color green on this card created by Latisha Yoast. She started with Granny Smith cardstock, added the shamrocks in darker green ink tones with the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set, and then added shading around the edges of the background. She used the Little Bits – Shamrocks dies to add a pile of shamrocks in various shades of green around the ‘To my lucky charm’ sentiment.
Natasha Valkovskaya used the Masking Stencils – Hearts set to create a shamrock patterned heart! She laid the larger heart stencil from the set on a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock, added the stamping and stenciling with the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set into the opening, and added a bit of extra color blending to define the edges of the heart. She finished things off with the ‘Shake your shamrock’ sentiment from the new Mini Strips set that you will see more about below!
Stamp 10 sentiments that celebrate everything shamrocks and shenanigans with the new Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp. Use the sayings individually or combine them together for more possibilities! Cut all of the sentiments with one pass through your die cut machine using our innovative alignment guides with the coordinating Mini Strips or Mini Strips – Asymmetrical dies.
You already have seen many of the new Mini Strips sentiments in the TE Creative Team projects above, but here are a few more fun examples:
Emily Mydlowski added the ‘Go green!’ and ‘Eat, drink, & be Irish’ sentiments from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp embossed in white on Cilantro cardstock to this Mini Slim card. She added extra sparkle to the sentiments by add them to backers cut from gold glitter cardstock. The leprechauns from the Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set are perfect to set into the windows on the Mini Slim Circle Window Cutting Plate die!
Kavya trimmed apart a few of the sentiments from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp to put together a custom sentiment for this card. I love how she spelled out ‘luck’ with the Cap it Off Alpha dies and placed the sentiment along with several cute leprechauns over a glittery shamrock background!
Today, I’ll be sharing a closer look at the new St. Patrick’s Day products products during “T Time” at 1PM Central Time on the Taylored Expressions Facebook Page and would love to have you join me! If you miss the live broadcast, it will be available to view afterward. I hope to see you there!
