Today’s video is from Joy Baldwin and she has four cards to share that she created with the new Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set. Watch the video below to see how she created this set of lucky cards:
In the video, Joy shares how to use the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set to create backgrounds on Toffee cardstock. On two of the backgrounds, she embossed the stems in gold and on the other two she simply stamps the stems with Oreo ink. She shares tips for lining up the shamrock stencils and adds them using her Blender Brushes with Peapod and Lime Zest inks. She uses the backgrounds to create four different cards that include sentiments from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp and die cut shamrocks.
On this card, Joy used the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets dies to create different layers. I love how the vellum layer is perfect for letting the sentiment and die cut shamrock stand out, but you can still see the shamrock pattern in the background. The addition of gold glitter cardstock and Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops goes perfectly with the gold embossing Joy did on the shamrock stems in the background.
This card features a gold glitter cardstock layer cut out using the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets with the shamrock background layered over the top. Joy arranged the Little Bits – Shamrocks die cuts so they are tumbling down across the card and added the ‘You’re my pot of gold’ sentiment from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp.
Joy clustered a few shamrocks around the ‘shenanigans’ sentiment from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp at the bottom of this card featuring the background created with the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set. She also added a sprinkling of Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops across the card front for a finishing touch.
On this last card, Joy did a line up of shamrocks above the ‘Shake your shamrock’ sentiment. Layering the smaller shamrocks on top of the larger ones adds a nice extra bit of dimension! I also like how Joy cut out the shamrock background with a smaller Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets die to create a wider frame on the Sugar Cube card base.
Joy came up with great possibilities in combining the elements from the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo, Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp, and Little Bits – Shamrocks die cuts. I hope you are inspired to try some of these ideas yourself!
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Joy used on her set of cards:
We consider the TE Creative Team to be our best lucky charms and here’s more inspiration from a few of them to share featuring the new products from this St. Patrick’s Day Mini Release:
Annette Allen created a background full of luck with the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set on this St. Patrick Day card. She stamped the stems in Oreo ink and then added the stenciled shamrocks with Granny Smith and Cilantro inks. I love the sparkly ‘happy’ that is cut out using the Cap it Off Alpha dies from gold and green glitter cardstock and how Annette used a large shamrock as the ‘A’ in the word!
Arjita Sepaha Singh took the ‘Shake your shamrock’ sentiment from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp literally and created an actual shamrock shaker card! After creating the shamrock background, she cut an opening in the middle with the dies from the Mini Slim Trifold Template + Dies – Circle set for the shaker element. She filled the shaker with Bits & Pieces – Gold Drip Drops and shamrocks cut out with the Little Bits – Shamrocks dies.
Don’t be afraid to use colors besides green for your shamrocks! Jill Hawkins used a rainbow of colors on this card that is perfect for sending a little luck anytime of year to your favorite people. She added shamrocks cut from coordinating cardstock colors clustered under the sentiment strips that are stamped with the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp and cut out with the Mini Strips – Asymmetrical die.
Natasha Valkovskaya gathered several leprechauns from the Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set and lined them up at an angle on this cute-as-can-be St. Patrick’s Day card. The shamrock patterned strip behind the leprechauns is created with the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set and Natasha finished off the card with the ‘It’s your lucky day!’ sentiment.
These leprechaun tags are created by me (Heather Nichols) and are ready to tie onto St. Patrick’s Day treats! I used the Shamrocks Stamp & Stencil Combo set on the tag bases and added a leprechaun and sentiments from the Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set to each one. A glittery shamrock cut out from green glitter cardstock is the perfect finishing touch on each tag.
Annette Allen stamped the whole background of leprechauns from the Lucky Leprechaun Cling & Clear Combo set onto Toffee cardstock, added color to their cute faces using the coordinating clear stamps in the set, and used the coordinating Lucky Leprechaun stencil to add the green shamrocks. I love how Annette featured one of the leprechauns on a tag in the center of her card along with the ‘Kiss me, I’m Irish’ sentiment from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp.
