I’m super excited about today’s video! First, I always love creating multiple cards with one stamp set to show the different looks that can be achieved with just one set. Our Brimming with Love set works for so many occasions so it was the perfect one to grab to show off our new masking stencil products.
Check out the video above for a step-by-step tutorial on how I created both of these projects using our new scalloped masking stencils and Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets.
For both projects, I’ll be pairing these new products with the original Masking Stencil – Rectangles. On the card above, I used the large rectangle masking stencil to reverse mask and stencil a border around the edge of my cardstock. And here’s where the cool part comes in! Do you see those little diagonal stitches? We’ve designed a set of dies that is sized to cut either on the inside or the outside edge of the masked/blended opening (in both sizes)! There are so many ways you can combine these items for lots of different looks while still keeping your card clean and simple!
I finished this one by adding the bouquet in the masked opening and sentiment from the coordinating Brimming with Love Sentiments set.
For this project I combined the previously released Masking Stencil – Rectangles (the smaller size) with the new Masking Stencil – Scalloped Rectangles. These two stencil sets are designed to layer together to create endless combos for colorful scalloped frames or two-toned blended layers!
Again I used the diagonal stitch die to create extra dimension inside the masked frame. Currently, the diagonal stitches come in rectangle and square and match the original Masking Stencils – Rectangles and Masking Stencils – Squares.
Here’s a more in-depth look at all of the new products that we are releasing today, along with inspiration from the TE Creative Team:
The Masking Stencils – Scalloped Circles set includes 2 sizes of circles with a scalloped edge. The stencils include innovative etched alignment guides to line them up perfectly on an A2 card. You can use these stencils on their own or with the Masking Stencils – Circles set. Use the included solid shape inserts for even more masking possibilities!
Jill Hawkins added a couple of the smaller circles from the Masking Stencils – Scalloped Circles set to create the whimsical background for this Mini Slim card that features Gus floating away with a bunch of balloons from the Gus & Gertie stamp set. She blended the scalloped circles in bright rainbow colors with her Blender Brushes and then added a layer of polka dots over the top using the Hot Spots stencil in the same rainbow colors. The ‘oh happy day’ and ‘friend’ sentiment strips are embossed in white on Oreo cardstock using the Building Blocks – Be Bright stamp and are cut out with the coordinating Building Blocks die.
This card by Heather Nichols looks like it’s more than one layer, but it’s not! She paired the Masking Stencils – Circles and Masking Stencils – Scalloped Circles sets to create the look. The center circle is stenciled with Sugar Cube ink onto Toffee cardstock and then stamped with the florals from the Fresh Picked Florals stamp set while the mask was still in place. She masked the circle off to add the scalloped edge and masked everything off to stamp the Wood Plank Background.
The Masking Stencils – Scalloped Ovals set includes 2 sizes of ovals with a scalloped edge. The stencils include innovative etched alignment guides to center them up perfectly on an A2 card. You can use these stencils on their own or with the Masking Stencils – Ovals set. Use the included solid shape inserts for even more masking possibilities!
The peachy colors in this card by Latisha Yoast just speak springtime to me! She stenciled the small scalloped oval from the Masking Stencils – Scalloped Ovals set in the peachy tones with her Blender Brushes and then stamped the flower from the Sketchbook Florals stamp set onto the oval while the mask was still in place. I love the background on Latisha’s card that is stamped with the same flower in colors to match the blending on the scalloped oval!
Kavya blended the small scalloped oval from the Masking Stencils – Scalloped Ovals set in pretty yellow tones on Buttercream Frosting cardstock. She layered the Leafy Vine Cutting Plate over the top and inked the leaves in the center to match the scalloped oval behind it. The sentiment is created with the Cap it Off Alpha dies and a sentiment from the Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp. I love how Kavya tucked the letters to spell out the word ‘love’ in between the leaves on the die cut background!
The Masking Stencil – Mini Slim Scalloped Rectangle set includes one stencil with a scalloped rectangle cut out that is designed to coordinate with a Mini Slim card size (3.5″ x 6″). Use the innovative etched alignment guides to center the shape up perfectly on a Mini Slim card. You can use the stencil on its own or with the Masking Stencil – Mini Slim Rectangle set. Use the included solid shape insert for even more masking possibilities!
Melody Rupple used the Masking Stencil – Mini Slim Scalloped Rectangle to coordinate with the scalloped edge on the Petite Scallop Mini Slim Stacklets die cut. She stenciled the Mini Slim – Sunray stencil into the masking stencil to use as a background for her card that features a bright and colorful bouquet created with the Bouquet Whimsy stamp set.
The flowers from the Sketchbook Florals stamp set on this pair of Mini Slim cards by Natasha Valkovskaya are highlighted by delicate scallop frames created with the Masking Stencil – Mini Slim Scalloped Rectangle set and the solid shape insert from the Masking Stencil – Mini Slim Rectangle set. I love how the frames are added at different angles for a playful look! A few Bits & Pieces – Clear Drip Drops and Simple Strips sentiments are the perfect finishing touches!
The Masking Stencils – Scalloped Rectangles set includes 2 sizes of rectangles with a scalloped edge. The stencils include innovative etched alignment guides to center them up perfectly on an A2 card. You can use these stencils on their own or with the Masking Stencils – Rectangles set. Use the included solid shape inserts for even more masking possibilities!
Noriko Fairchild did double scalloped rectangles in totally rad colors on this card featuring the bunny and his boombox from the Hip Hop Bunny stamp set. She used the Masking Stencils – Scalloped Rectangles set with Granny Smith and Lime Zest inks to create the fun and almost neon color effect. The Sheet Music embossing folder added the perfect musical texture to the background and if you look closely you can see all of the Bits & Pieces – Sparkly Stars that Noriko scattered throughout the card design!
Here’s another card that brings springtime vibes by Laurie Willison. She created an arrangement of florals with the Fresh Picked Florals stamp set in pretty pastel colors and set it onto a background created with the Masking Stencils – Rectangles and Masking Stencils – Scalloped Rectangles sets using Confetti Cake and Salt Water Taffy inks. Laurie created the custom ‘hello’ sentiment with the Handlettered Alpha stamp set.
The Masking Stencils – Scalloped Squares set includes 2 sizes of squares with a scalloped edge. The stencils include innovative etched alignment guides to line them up perfectly on an A2 card. You can use these stencils on their own or with the Masking Stencils – Squares set. Use the included solid shape inserts for even more masking possibilities!
Annette Allen layered up the squares from the Masking Stencils – Squares and Masking Stencils – Scalloped Squares sets in pretty aqua tones to create the background on this sweet Easter card. She colored the bunny from the Cottontail Wishes stamp set with Copic markers, matching the flowers in the wreath to her stenciled background, and layered it over the top. The sentiment is from the Handlettered Easter stamp set and is cut out with the coordinating dies.
I love this clean and simple card design by Arjita Sepaha Singh! She stenciled the smaller scalloped square from the Masking Stencils – Scalloped Squares set in Confetti Cake ink and stamped the Spring Spray image over the top in Oreo ink. The sentiment is from the Love From Max & Millie stamp set and the Bits & Pieces – Silver Drip Drops are the perfect finishing touch. I’ll share more about the impressed frame that Arjita added around the scalloped square below!
The Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets and Diagonal Stitch Square Stacklets die collections will impress a diagonal line frame design into your cardstock when you run it through your die cut machine. The sets are designed to coordinate with the corresponding Masking Stencils – Rectangles and Masking Stencils – Squares sets and include frames that will fit both inside and outside the different sized shapes in each set.
This birthday card by Emily Mydlowski features a bunch of colorful rectangles layered together that were created with the Masking Stencils – Rectangles set. Emily added even more texture to her card by using the new Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets to impress the frame designs around the different rectangles. She inked up the On the Block – Happy stamp in multiple colors to match her colorful background and added ‘birthday’ from the On Repeat – Birthday stamp embossed in white on Oreo cardstock.
I love the fun twist that Kevin Bray did on this cute card! He impressed the Diagonal Stitch Square Stacklets die tipped at an angle, masked off the middle of the square with the square insert from the Masking Stencils – Squares set, and stenciled the background with the Modern Mosaic Layered Stencil set. That left the perfect spot to feature the unicorn and dragon from the Little Critters stamp set and the ‘love you bunches’ sentiment from the Building Blocks – Love Additions stamp.
