Emily Leiphart created a trio of cards using the Social Butterflies Cling & Clear Combo set (+ coordinating dies). Watch the video below to see how she created each of the cards from start to finish:
In the video, Emily shares how she created three different cards using the Social Butterflies Cling & Clear Combo set (+ coordinating dies). She uses a similar color combination on each one, but they each have their own distinct look and style! Emily stamps the butterfly outline images, adds the color fill images with the clear stamps, stamps the line texture image to create different backgrounds for each card, and then puts each of the cards together.
Here’s a closer look at the three different cards that Emily created:

This card features the line texture image stamped in different directions to create a colorful background. Watch the video to see how Emily created the background really easily with her MISTI. She arranged the butterflies in a grid design to coordinate with her background and I love the peeks of colored cardstock that she added to the edges of her card base!

This card has a more monochromatic look with butterflies that are all stamped with Salt Water Taffy ink for the fill color. I love how Emily layered the butterflies onto Pink Champagne cardstock die cuts for an extra pop of color and how she folded the wings and added a bit of foam tape under the wings on the left side of the butterflies for a great dimensional effect.

This Mini Slim sized shaker card is so much fun! Emily stamped the line texture image across the piece of cardstock layered underneath the Mini Slim Square Window Cutting Plate die cut so that the pattern shows through the windows. A bit of acetate, foam tape, and sequins transformed the card into an interactive shaker card and Emily added the butterflies in a whimsical line across the card front.

Here’s a few more projects created with the Social Butterflies Cling & Clear Combo set by the TE Creative Team:

Let’s start off with a project from me (Heather Nichols). I gathered together several butterflies (also called a kaleidoscope, swarm, or flutter!) from the Social Butterflies Cling & Clear Combo set to send a happy ‘hello there’ to a friend. I stamped the butterfly outlines on Sugar Cube cardstock, added the fills with the clear stamps, and then cut them out with the coordinating dies. The background is created with the Masking Stencils – Scalloped Rectangles set and Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets set. I used the smaller rectangle and applied Sugar Cube ink onto Toffee cardstock. If you look closely you can see a polka dot pattern on the scalloped rectangle that I added using the Mini Slim – On the Dot stencil with another layer of Sugar Cube ink.

Jill Hawkins stamped the butterfly outlines from the Social Butterflies Cling & Clear Combo set for her cards with Earl Gray ink and added the fills with the clear stamps after inking them up with multiple colors to create pretty color blends on the wings. After cutting the butterflies out with the coordinating dies, she layered them over a background created with the lined texture image that is stamped in Earl Gray ink to match. I love how Jill used sewing machine stitching on one of her cards to create the butterfly trails! Jill stamped a few of the different sentiments on each of the cards and now they are ready to bring a little joy to someone’s mailbox!

You probably know that I love creating with Toffee cardstock and I especially love when I see projects that feature Toffee cardstock too! Noriko Fairchild embossed the butterflies from the Social Butterflies Cling & Clear Combo set in white over the different colored fills that she stamped on Toffee cardstock. I love how Noriko used the lined texture image at an angle to create a background design that frames the butterflies and how great are all of those white splatters?! The sentiment is embossed on a vellum strip in white and layered across the card design.
Next up is more inspiration using the Full of Flowers Cling & Clear Combo set, Full of Flowers stencils, Full of Flowers – Singles stamp set, and Full of Flowers – Singles die collection.

Natasha Valkovskaya adapted the Full of Flowers Cling & Clear Combo set to use on a Mini Slim sized (3.5″ x 6″) card. She stamped the background image, added color using the clear stamp fill images, and trimmed it down into a smaller block to include on her Mini Slim card. I love how Natasha impressed lines into her card front using the Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets set to fall above and below the stamped flower block! She stamped the ‘you’re on my mind’ sentiment from the Full of Flowers – Singles stamp set underneath in Oreo ink to complete her card design.

Kevin Bray kept his design clean and simple using the background image from the Full of Flowers Cling & Clear Combo set paired with the Full of Flowers stencils. The stencils make coloring the background image so quick and easy. Kevin stenciled the flowers in peach tones, added color to the leaves, and then added the floral panel to his card with the top cut at an angle. He stamped the ‘celebrating you’ sentiment on the top part of his card, matching the angle he cut at the top of the floral background. This card design is one that would be wonderful for mass production, plus you can customize the look by swapping out the colors for stenciling the flowers and leaves!

Arjita Sepaha Singh created bright and cheery floral borders on the top and bottom of her card using the Full of Flowers – Singles stamp set. She stamped the flower and greenery outlines, added color using the clear fill stamps from the Full of Flowers Cling & Clear Combo set, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and arranged them across her card. The ‘thanks’ from the Big Thanks stamp set is stamped in the middle of the card and Arjita added the ‘for being so amazing’ on a strip of cardstock underneath it. Her finishing touch is Bit & Pieces – Drip Drops scattered through the flowers.
