Are you ready for all of the inspiration using the Butterfly Wishes Kit from the TE Creative Team? Here we go!
Heather Nichols starts us off with a trio of cards that she created with the Butterfly Wishes Kit. She walks you through the steps for how to make the cards in the video below:
In the video, Heather shows you how to use the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set to create a background and add patterns to the butterflies with the Butterfly Wishes stamp set. She creates three cards from different cardstock colors. Heather shares how she used the coordinating Butterflies die cuts to cut out several butterflies from the background and pop them up with foam tape. The sentiments from the Sweet Sentiments stamp set are added to the cards on vellum strips and Diamond Jewels are used to create butterfly trails.
Heather created her cards on several pretty pastel cardstock colors: Salt Water Taffy, Pink Champagne, and Peaches ‘n’ Cream. You could keep going with this idea and create this card design in just about any color! A rainbow assortment of butterfly cards packaged together would make a wonderful gift idea!
To create a number of cards quickly, Heather did the top wings for each card in Sugar Cube ink. The bottom wings use an ink color that coordinates with the cardstock for a great tone on tone look! She stamped the patterns onto the wings from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set using an acrylic block with coordinating ink colors.
I love that the Butterflies die collection matches up with several of the butterflies in the background pattern that is created with the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set. Heather cut out several butterflies from each background and popped them up with foam tape to add extra dimension. She even folded the wings up just a bit for the perfect butterfly effect! The sparkle on the cards is from the Diamond Jewels that Heather used to create the butterfly trails for the popped up butterflies – I love these pretty iridescent gems!
Now, let’s take a closer look at the different elements of the kit as well as more inspiration from the TE Creative Team. Note: Most of these items are only available as part of the Butterfly Wishes Kit.
Blend your love of stamping and stenciling with the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set. Simply stamp the background of butterfly bodies. Then, use the etched guides on the first stencil to line things up perfectly, add one layer of butterfly wings in one color, and then add a second layer of wings in another color doing the same thing with the second stencil.
Several of the butterflies created with the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set can be cut out with the coordinating Butterflies die collection. The dies also coordinate with the Clearly Crafty Butterfly Wishes stamp set you’ll learn more about shortly!
Jill Hawkins used the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set to create butterfly backgrounds on Sugar Cube and Toffee cardstock. I love the look of the pastel colors on the different colors of cardstock! On the Toffee background, Jill stenciled the wings with Sugar Cube ink first so that the ink colors would show up brighter than if she had blended the ink directly on the cardstock. Jill stitched vellum strips across the background to add her sentiments and framed the backgrounds using a Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate die.
This set of rainbow butterfly Mini Slim cards by Emily Mydlowski just make my rainbow loving heart all aflutter! The card on the left features the all over pattern created with the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set. The card on the right has peeks of the all over design through the windows in the Mini Slim Square Window Cutting Plate die cut. I love how Emily also added die cut butterflies popped up by each of the windows!
How pretty is this unexpected, moody color scheme that Arjita Sepaha Singh used on her card created with the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set? Arjita embossed the butterfly bodies in gold on Blue Corn cardstock and added the wings with Blue Corn ink. She die cut a gold embossed butterfly that was stamped with the Butterfly Wishes stamp set (you’ll learn more about that below) with a Butterflies die and added it over the gold embossed ‘birthday wishes’ sentiment from the Sweet Sentiments stamp set (more on that below too!)
The Clearly Crafty Butterfly Wishes stamp set includes elements to stamp three different multicolored butterflies that coordinate with the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set. Use the smaller images in the set to add patterns to the butterfly wings in both sets and there are a few whimsical butterfly trails too! You can cut out the stamped butterflies using the Butterflies die collection I shared above!
Add the perfect sentiments to your butterfly projects using the Cleary Crafty Sweet Sentiments stamp set. The set includes six sentiments that cover a variety of occasions. Accent the sentiments or create coordinating patterns using the smaller butterfly silhouette images in the set!
Lori Craig used the Butterfly Wishes stamp set to create a rainbow of butterflies going up her card. I love the cute patterns she added to the wings and love how she added a few tiny butterfly silhouettes from the Sweet Sentiments stamp set to the line up! She stamped the ‘birthday wishes’ sentiment in Oreo ink and added a few Diamond Jewels to the yellow butterfly for a bit of sparkle!
I love how Wanda Guess framed the bright and cheery butterflies on this card – doesn’t it look like an instant photo? She created the butterflies with the Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo set using yellow and orange inks and then added the patterns to the wings from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set using Oreo ink. The splatters on the butterlifes and frame are very fun and the rhinestone touches added around the frame are lovely.
This clean and simple design created with the Butterfly Wishes stamp set by Laurie Willison is the sweetest. She added the wings to the butterfly bodies with a few shades of pink inks, added the patterns with Oreo ink, and cut them out using the Butterflies die collection. She set the butterflies aflutter across a Sugar Cube card base and added a looped butterfly trail to one of them. The ‘birthday wishes’ sentiment is stamped in Oreo ink and I love how the embossed frame around the card front adds a polished look to the card.
The Butterfly Wishes Kit includes a container of Diamond Jewels that you’ll love using to accent the butterflies on your projects! Add these iridescent rhinestones directly to the butterflies, create butterfly trails, or scatter them randomly on your project for extra sparkle and shine.
Melody Rupple added Diamond Jewels to each of the butterflies fluttering across her Mini Slim card. The butterflies are stamped using the Butterfly Wishes stamp set in purples, greens, and turquoise inks. It’s an unexpected color combination that I really love! The background of Melody’s card is stenciled using the Mini Slim – Sunray stencil and she added the sentiment from the Sweet Sentiments stamp set on a strip of cardstock.
The Butterfly Wishes Kit includes 6 envelopes and 6 custom envelope seals that coordinate with the theme of the kit. The six A2 envelopes are Toffee and the coordinating butterfly envelope seals are made from durable, weatherproof material and are sure to bring a smile to the recipients of your cards. You can purchase additional envelope seals (pack of 10) in the TE webstore right now!
