In the video for today, I created a pile of teacher thank you cards using the new I Pick You Cling & Clear Combo Set, I Pick You die, I Pick You stencil, and the Fill in the Blank – Teacher Cling & Clear Combo set. Watch the video below to see how I put these cards together:
In the video, I share more about the I Pick You products and how I use them to mass produce teacher appreciation cards. I create the backgrounds with the background stamp and stencil, I make a pile of colorful apples using the background stamp and clear stamps, I create the ‘thank you’ sentiments with the Fill in the Blank – Teacher Cling & Clear Combo set with one of the apples as the ‘O’ in the word ‘you’, and I put the cards together, finishing them off with Bits & Pieces – Clear Drip Drops.
Here’s a closer look at the new products that I used in the video:
School theme and teacher appreciation projects wouldn’t be complete without apples so we’ve featured them in our new I Pick You Cling & Clear Combo set. The set includes a red rubber stamp featuring a pattern of apples and 12 clear, photopolymer stamps to add color to the images along with coordinating sentiments. You can cut out any of the apples from the background stamp using the I Pick You die. Use the I Pick You stencil to add a handwriting paper design in between the apples on the background.
The new Fill in the Blank – Teacher Cling & Clear Combo set includes three large sentiments that are all missing a letter. Simply fill the open space with an apple created with the I Pick You Cling & Clear Combo set (+ coordinating die) or another image from your collection. Complete the sentiments with the photopolymer stamp set that includes seven coordinating words/phrase and symbols.
One of my favorite things about the new I Pick You products is the stencil to fill in the background between the apples. It looks like lines from handwriting paper and the design hugs right up next to the apples! For this set of cards, I stamped the background stamp with Sugar Cube ink on Toffee cardstock and then added the stenciled pattern using Toffee ink and a blender brush. The Toffee and Sugar Cube together are a great neutral look and allow the bright colored banner and apples to stand out on the cards.
I used apples that I stamped and colored with the clear stamps as the ‘O’ in the word ‘you’ and the look is so much fun for teacher cards! It’s so easy to create a whole bunch of apples at one time using the I Pick You Cling & Clear Combo set and it makes creating your cards easy and fun when you have a bunch of images ready to go. I stamped the apple background in Oreo ink and then used an acrylic block to stamp the fill colors and patterns – aren’t the little apple seeds fun?
I am thrilled to have teacher thank you cards ready to go – the end of school year is going to be here before we know it!
Here’s more inspiration from members of the TE Creative Team as well as a closer look at a few more new products that are available to purchase today for our Teacher/Grad release!
Natasha Valkovskaya stamped the I Pick You background from the Cling & Clear Combo set in Oreo ink onto watercolor cardstock, added color the apples with liquid watercolor paints, and then added spatters over the whole piece. I love the square format of Natasha’s card and how she did some clever trimming to create the framed look on the stamped panel. The ‘thank you…’ sentiment is embossed on an Oreo cardstock strip and cut out with the Simple Strips – Asymmetrical die.
Here’s another card from Natasha Valkovskaya created with the Fill in the Blank – Teacher Cling & Clear Combo set. She stamped the ‘thank you’ sentiment in Cilantro ink, added the ‘for helping me grow’ sentiment from the clear set underneath in Oreo ink, and filled in the ‘O’ on the ‘you’ word using an apple from the I Pick You Cling & Clear Combo set. This Mini Slim design would be a great one to mass produce!
We are excited to now offer a coordinating edger die for our popular Create in Color Background stamp! The die cuts along just the top edge of the image and offers options for layering and dimension.
Noriko Fairchild created a whole rainbow card set using the Create in Color Background stamp and new Create in Color Edger die. She stamped the images in matching cardstock and ink colors (you could also get this look by stamping with VersaMark Ink on each color of cardstock), trimmed the top edge with the new die, and added the panels to a card base of the same color. On each card she added an Oreo cardstock strip with the ‘thank you’ sentiment from the Full Circle – School stamp set embossed on it in white. This set of cards would make a wonderful teacher gift!
There’s so many things I love about this graduation card created by Kavya! The line up of colored pencils stamped with the Create in Color Background stamp is stunning and Kavya used the new coordinating die to trim across the top of the image. The pencils are layered over a chalkboard scene that is created with the Wood Plank Background stamp and Full Circle – School stamp set. Check out how Kaya colored the, normally white bordered, edges of the die cut to coordinate with the colors in the background. Kavya used the On the Block – Grad stamp (+ coordinating die) and a sentiment from the Mini Strips – St. Patrick’s Day stamp to create the sentiment for her card.
