Joy Baldwin is up for today’s video and is sharing how she created this colorful graduation card and gift card holder set. You can watch the video below:
In the video, Joy shows how to use the Grad Cap Layered Stencil set and she stencils three different pattern variations to use on the graduation card, gift card pocket, and gift card pocket insert. She uses the Bitty Blender Brushes and the Black Blender Brush with Cherry Pop, Candy Corn, Lemon Meringue, Cilantro, Blueberry, and Plum Punch inks. Joy adds sentiments to the card and gift card holder that are created with the On the Block – Grad stamp (+ coordinating die) and Mini Strips – Grad stamp.
Here’s another addition to the On the Block collection with the new On the Block – Grad stamp and coordinating On the Block – Grad Shadow die. It’s a two in one release (the On the Block – Hooray stamp + coordinating die are now available too!) for this collection and you could even combine the ‘hooray!’ and ‘grad’ together on your project!
Stamp 10 sentiments that celebrate graduates and other accomplishments with the new Mini Strips – Grad stamp. Use the sayings individually or combine them together for more possibilities! Cut all of the sentiments with one pass through your die cut machine using our innovative alignment guides with the coordinating Mini Strips or Mini Strips – Asymmetrical dies.
Make backgrounds to celebrate the grads with our Grad Cap Layered Stencil set. This set of three individual stencils that feature scattered caps, tassels, and stars to create a graduation cap tossing celebration background. The stencils are fun to use with TE Blender Brushes (sold separately) and each stencil includes alignment squares on either side to ensure your design lines up perfectly.
I love the rainbow look that Joy did on the graduation caps for the card. When you aren’t sure of school colors or are trying to mass produce many cards in one sitting, this is the way to go! Joy continued the rainbow theme on the gift card holder.
For the card sentiment, Joy stamped the On the Block – Grad with Oreo ink and then added a layer of Versamark Ink so that she could emboss it with clear embossing powder. The shine really steps up the look and makes the word stand out on the card. The sentiment strips scattered across the card are from the Mini Strips – Grad stamp. Joy stamped them in Oreo ink on Sugar Cube cardstock and cut them out with the Mini Strips die.
The gift card holder is created with the Pretty Package die collection. Joy die cut the pieces, added the design to them, and colored the bow with a Bitty Blender Brush using Blueberry ink. She attached the notched die cut to the insert piece so that she can slip a gift card onto it. I love how Joy inked up the On the Block – Grad word with a few shades of ink to create the ombre look!
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that she used to create the graduation card and gift card holder set:
Here are a few more projects from the TE Creative Team using the new products from this release:
Latisha Yoast kept things clean and simple on this graduation card. She used only two of the stencils (the caps and the tassels) in the Grad Cap Layered Stencil set to create the background and only used one ink color for both. She added the ‘grad’ using the On the Block – Grad stamp (+ coordinating die) and finished off the design with a few Bits & Pieces Black Drip Drops. This is a great card to customize with the graduates school or favorite colors!
Arjita Sepaha Singh also just used the caps and tassels stencils from the Grad Cap Layered Stencil set for this graduation card. She used her Blender Brushes to add the caps in Oreo ink and the tassels in Lemon Meringue ink. The sentiment on the card is created with the On the Block – Grad stamp (+ coordinating die) and the Building Blocks – Well Done stamp. Arjita used the other new embellishment from this release to finish off her card: Bits & Pieces – Cosmic Drip Drops!
We know you love the Cap it Off Alpha dies to add personalization and custom sentiments to your projects and now we are offering numbers in the same outline style with the new Cap it Off Numbers die collection! Add numbers to customize your cards for graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, and more!
This 2021 graduation card by Laurie Willison features just the inset pieces from the Cap it Off Numbers die collection. Laurie layered the year over a background that is stenciled with the Grad Cap Layered Stencil set and I love how she just used just a portion of the design in muted colors! The larger grad cap is from the The Tassel stamp set and the ‘congratulations’ sentiment is from the Mini Strips – Grad stamp.
Graduation is anything but normal in 2021 and Big Grumpy definitely has something to say about it! You can share Big Grumpy’s sentiments on graduation cards with the FREE Big Grumpy Grad 2021 Download. Print the download onto cardstock and then stamp either Big Grumpy or Big Grumpy – Cat over the top to add the six different sentiments to the sign. CLICK HERE to watch a video tutorial from our Big Grumpy COVID-19 Sentiments Download released last year.
Finally for today is another Big Grumpy card from Jill Hawkins! This time it’s Big Grumpy – Cat and he’s holding a snarky sign that works for graduation and other noteworthy achievements. The sentiment is a part of the FREE Big Grumpy Grad 2021 Download that Jill printed onto Sugar Cube cardstock, stamped Big Grumpy over the top, and colored him with Copic markers. The festive background is stenciled using the Masking Stencils – Stars set and the Scattered Stars stencil.
That wraps up the inspiration for today! Make sure to stop back tomorrow for one more day of crafty inspiration using the new graduation and teacher goodies that were released this week. I’ll have a video to share from Emily Leiphart along with more inspiration from the TE Creative Team!
