Today’s video is from Heather Nichols and she created this Hanukkah card using the new Foil It – Hanukkah panels. I love all of the sparkle and shine! Watch the video below:
In the video, Heather uses Blue and Silver Shattered Glass Deco Foil with the Foil It – Hanukkah panels, applying the foil with her Minc machine. She added color blending and ink splattering to the panel foiled in blue and cut out several of the individual images on the silver foiled panel with the Bright Hanukkah dies. The sentiment is embossed in silver on Blueberry cardstock with the Get the Word Out – Happy stamp (cut out with the Get the Word Out – Happy Shadow die) and the On Repeat – Hanukkah stamp (cut out with the On Repeat die). The background is framed with a silver foil cardstock frame cut out using the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate die.
While Heather used a Minc machine to do her heat foiling, you can definitely use a heat laminator machine as well. It’s so easy to add sparkle and shine to your projects with foiling! I love how Heather added ink blending to the background panel to create a tone on tone look with the blue foil and blue inks. If you are going to ink blend our Foil It panels, we recommend that you foil first for best results. Adding ink over the toner image could change your foiling results.
With all of out Foil It panels, your can leave them intact for an all over background, but you can also cut out images by either fussy cutting or using coordinating dies. Cutting out images give you all sort of options of layering, highlighting images, embellishing and more! Heather used the Bright Hanukkah dies to cut out several images from the silver foiled panel for this card.
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Heather used on her card:
Here is a closer look at the new Hanukkah products that we are releasing today along with inspiration from the TE Creative Team:
Send Hanukkah greetings to your family and friends to celebrate the holiday with the Clearly Crafty Bright Hanukkah stamp set. The set includes a multi-step menorah image so you can stamp it in multiple colors, 16 Hanukkah and winter themed icons, and two ‘Happy Hanukkah’ sentiments. Cut out the menorah image and many of the smaller images in the set using the Bright Hanukkah die collection.
Kavya stamped the menorah and some of the smaller images from the Bright Hanukkah stamp set in several colors for this Hanukkah card: Blue Corn for the main part of the menorah, Cookie Monster for the candles, Honey for the star, and Pineapple for the candle flames and smaller images. She also added highlight details to the stamped images with a white gel pen. The images are cut out with the coordinating dies and added to a background that Kavya stenciled using the Create-in-Quads – Mistletoe Layered Stencil set – so pretty!
Melody Rupple embossed the menorah from the Bright Hanukkah stamp set in silver and added candles with Gumball ink. I just love the Bits & Pieces – Silver Drip Drops that she added to the menorah for extra shine! A few other small images from the set are embossed in white or silver on different shades of blue cardstock along with a few images stamped in Blue Corn ink. Melody added the Hanukkah images onto a background that is stenciled with the Superstar Rotating Stencil.
Add foiled accents to the cards you create with our Foil It – Hanukkah panels. Simply top the panel with the foil of your choice and run it through your foiling machine. Foil It – Hanukkah is a set of 12 pre-printed panels on TE Premium Cardstock (each measures 4″ x 5 1/4″).
Our resident foiling expert, Noriko Fairchild, created a pair of cards that feature the Foil It – Hanukkah panels for the card backgrounds. She foiled the panels in Silver Stars Deco Foil and added ink blending in various shades of blue. For the card on the left, she highlighted the menorah image by cutting it out with the coordinating die from the Bright Hanukkah die collection and popping it up over the same image on the background with foam adhesive. For the card on the right, Noriko let the sentiment strips take center stage and let the foiled panel fall to the background. I love how these few small changes between the cards can give you different looks!
Send out happy thoughts and wishes with the Get the Word Out – Happy stamp. Layer it over the Get the Word Out – Happy Shadow die to add dimension with a variety of materials that are easy to cut using this Mixed-Media die.
Our On Repeat collection is an easy way to stamp and cut out lots of versions of the same word at once. On Repeat – Hanukkah lets you stamp two versions of the word “Hanukkah” eight times – four in all caps and four in a typewriter-style font. Cut them out in one pass by aligning them with the tabs on our coordinating On Repeat die (sold separately).
Emily Mydlowski added sentiments created with the Get the Word Out – Happy stamp (+ coordinating die) and On Repeat – Hanukkah stamp (+ coordinating die) to foiled background created with the Foil It – Hanukkah panels. I love the different looks that Emily created by doing silver touches for the card on the left and gold touches for the card on the right. And can we talk about the double dipped ‘happy’ word? It’s stamped in Blue Corn ink and then again, just on the bottom, with Versamark ink that is sprinkled with gold embossing powder and embossed – I love it!
We are introducing the Get the Word Out – Happy stamp with the new Hanukkah products, but the new ‘happy’ word is also versatile for sentiments throughout the year: Happy Birthday, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and more! Jill Hawkins used the Get the Word Out – Happy stamp to create a Christmas card by pairing it with the On Repeat – Holidays stamp and layering it over a background stenciled with the Modern Holly Layered Stencil set. (You could easily adapt this card design to use it as a Hanukkah card with a change of color and/or using a Foil It – Hanukkah panel for the background!)
A Simple Strips stamp full of Hanukkah sentiments? Yes, please! Use the Simple Strips – Hanukkah stamp with any of our Simple Strips Dies: Simple Strips, Simple Strips – Well Rounded, and Simple Strips – Asymmetrical (all sold separately) to create 18 sentiment strips at once that can be used individually or grouped together for an extra impact.
Jen Shults added sentiment strips from the Simple Strips – Hanukkah stamp embossed in silver on Blue Corn cardstock to this Hanukkah card that she created. The menorah on Jen’s card is stamped using the Bright Hanukkah stamp set. She stamped the menorah in Blue Corn, added the candles and star embossed in silver, and stamped the candle flames with Pineapple ink. I love the touch of silver glitter cardstock layered behind the main panel of the card and how it coordinates perfectly with the silver embossing on the menorah and sentiments.
We are excited to share two new colors of our Premium Glitter Cardstock: Dark Blue and Light Blue. You will love adding sugary, sparkly details to your projects! The cardstock is pre-cut in A2 size pieces (4.25″ x 5.5″) and offered in packages of 10 sheets per color. There are peeks of the glitter cardstock in a number of the projects from the TE Creative Team above, plus check out the project from Melody below!
This card by Melody Rupple has all sorts of glittery touches! She added a Light Blue glitter cardstock layer behind the Get the Word Out – Happy word using the coordinating die and attaching it offset a bit. Melody also added a glittery layer peeking out from behind the stamped background panel. I also love how the stamped background is covered with a layer of vellum so that the focal images and sentiment really stand out on the card.
