Today’s video is from Emily Leiphart and features graduation cards created with both the Shout Out – You Did It Layering Stencil set and Shout Out – You Did It die. Watch how Emily created all three cards in the video below:
In the video, Emily shows how she created three different cards to celebrate graduation using the Shout Out – You Did It die and Layering Stencil set. For two of the cards, Emily uses the Shout Out – You Did It die and she shares tips on cutting out the sentiment from a larger piece of cardstock to make it easier to plan and explore layout options for your card designs. For the third card, Emily uses the Shout Out – You Did It Layering Stencil set to add the sentiment.
Here’s a closer look at the cards that Emily created:
For this card, Emily pieced a striped background using the Easy Strips – 1/4″ die in a rainbow of colors. She added die cut details to the sentiment panel, including stars cut out with the Gathered Stars die cut out from gold glitter cardstock.
The sentiment is die cut from this next card as well and then Emily added blending on the cardstock panel behind it. She stamped a sentiment from the Class of 2022 stamp set across the ‘you’ at the top of the card and shares in the video how she stamped it onto the die cut layer and also the layer behind it to create a unique effect. The Blue Raspberry panel is impressed with the Diamonds Piercing Plate for extra dimension and detail.
This card features the Shout Out – You Did It Layering Stencil set. Emily stenciled the letters in multiple colors using her Bitty Blender Brushes and added the shadow with Poppy Seed ink. The design is framed with the largest frame from the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate die cut out from both gold glitter and Oreo cardstock. She added sentiment strips to the card using the Mini Strips – Grad stamp that are embossed in gold on Oreo cardstock and cut out with the Mini Strips die.
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Emily used on her projects:
Here’s a few more cards from the TE Creative Team to inspire your graduation and congratulation card creating:
Jen Shults themed the graduation cards that she created with the Create-in-Quads Hooray Layering Stencil set to her daughter’s, who is graduating this year, high school colors. She used Blueberry, Earl Gray, and Sea Salt inks to stencil the layers and added Happy Medium – Iridescent Glitter for a touch of sparkle. The sentiments from the High Five stamp set are embossed in silver on Blueberry cardstock and Jen used the Cut For You 2022 cut outs in both black and silver to add the year to each of the cards.
Jill Hawkins paired the Create-in-Quads Hooray Layering Stencil set with a number of new graduation products from this release to create this set of grad cards. For the top left card, she paired the fireworks panel with the Shout Out – You Did It die. On the top right card, Jill added a Cut For You 2022 – Silver cut out along with a sentiment from the Class of 2022 stamp set embossed in silver to the bottom of the grad cap panel. The bottom left card features the sentiment from the All You Need stamp in the star frame design and Jill added the ‘you’re a star’ sentiment from the High Five stamp set and a sentiment from the Simple Strips Background stamp to the banner/garland panel on the bottom right card.
Kavya used the preprinted Foil It – Grad cards unfoiled with the Create-in-Quads Hooray Layering Stencil set to create this set of graduation cards. She used a different main color on each panel (Poblano Pepper, Mulled Wine, Honey, and Blueberry) along with Oreo ink and Happy Medium – Gold Glitter for the stencil layers. To finish the cards, Kavya added a matching card base and white gel pen highlights.
I foiled a few of the Foil It – Grad panels with Gold Deco Foil with my Minc machine to create this pair of graduations cards (Heather Nichols). The panels are framed using a frame cut from Sugar Cube cardstock with the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate die and added to Oreo card bases. I cut out a bunch of graduation caps using the Little Bits – Grad Cap die collection and sprinkled them onto each card along with gold glitter cardstock stars.
Emily Mydlowski created this set of colorful and shiny cards with the Shout Out – You Did It Layering Stencil set. One layer on each card is stenciled in a rainbow of colors (use Post-it Removable Tape to mask off the letters to stencil multiple colors) and the other is stenciled with Glitter Grab and then foiled with Gold Deco Foil. You can leave the ‘you did it!’ sentiment as is or add extra sentiment strips using a set like Building Blocks – Well Done stamp like Emily did on the card on the left.
Noriko Fairchild used the Shout Out – You Did It die to create this sparkly graduation shaker card. The ‘you did it!’ sentiment is cut out a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock that is stamped with the Ticks & Tacks Background stamp in Sea Salt ink. Noriko filled the shaker with Snow Flurries sequins and Bits & Pieces – Sparkly Circles and framed the card using a Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 die. The graduation cap in the ‘O’ was cut out from Sugar Cube cardstock with the Little Bits – Grad Cap dies, layered with a Sticky Sheet, and dipped into Bits & Pieces – Sparkly Circles to coordinate with the shaker filling!
Melody Rupple used the Shout Out – You Did It die cut from a background that she stenciled with the Bokeh Stars Layering Stencil set for this congratulations themed card. The letters are popped up a bit from the background to create an eclipse effect and Melody added a few sentiment strips from the Simple Strips – Thanks stamp that are embossed in white and cut out with the Simple Strips – Well Rounded die. The final touch is a few Tiny Diamonds – Pastel rhinestones sprinkled throughout the design.
This pretty floral card created by Melody Rupple is a bit of a feminine take on a graduation card and features the sentiment from the All You Need stamp embossed in gold. The sentiment is framed with a Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 die and Melody added watercolored flowers along the bottom of the frame from the Planting Happiness stamp set.
