Today’s video is from Joy Baldwin and she is sharing a holiday card that is easy to create with the Candy Cane Lane Cardmaking Kit! See how Joy created the card from start to finish below:
In the video, Joy goes through the items included in the Candy Cane Lane Cardmaking Kit and the new products available separately from the kit. Joy starts out by cutting out the Sweet Stripes Cutting Plate from Sugar Cube Cardstock and layering the frame and frame insert over another piece of Sugar Cube cardstock that is covered with a Sticky Sheet. Sugar Cube Glitter is poured over the frame and it adheres to the frame openings where the Sticky Sheet is exposed. Next, Joy cuts out the candy canes, holly leaves, and berries with the dies from the Peppermint Kisses Die & Stencil Combo set. She adds stripes to the candy canes with the stencil and her Bitty Blender Brushes using Cherry Pop ink and adds color to the leaves with Peapod ink.
The ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment from the Seasonal Sentiments stamp set is embossed with the Red Peppermint Scented embossing powder and cut out with the coordinating die. The candy cane is added to the card with a bit of gold thread tied around it and then Joy added the holly leaves over the top along with a few of the peppermint pieces for the berries.
This card is a fantastic one to mass produce for the holidays! It’s a wonderful clean and simple design with details like the glitter, gold thread, and peppermints that step it up.
Check out the list below for all of the supplies that Joy used on her card:
Here are a few more card created with the Candy Cane Lane Cardmaking Kit from the TE Creative Team:
This holiday card by Jen Shults features a single candy cane dressed up with holly leaves and berries on a background that is blended with Cookie Monster ink, darker at the bottom and lighter at the top to create an ombre effect. The card is framed with the Sweet Stripes Cutting Plate die cut from Sugar Cube cardstock for the frame and Watermelon cardstock for the stripes that are inset on the frame. the ‘happy holidays’ sentiment is embossed with Red Peppermint Scented embossing powder and is set next to the candy cane along with a few Bits & Pieces – Peppermints.
The pair of candy canes on this card by Emily Mydlowski are extra sweet! She added the stripes to the candy canes using Watermelon ink and then added a layer of Versamark ink over the top so that she could emboss them with the Red Peppermint Scented embossing powder. The holly leaves and berries are added to the front of the criss-cross design and the ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment is stamped underneath. The card is framed with the largest Frame in Frame Cutting Plate die that is cut out from a piece of cardstock that Emily stenciled with the Gingham Rotating stencil.
This shaker card by Jill Hawkins is just the cutest! Jill created the shaker using the frame insert from the Sweet Stripes Cutting Plate die. She stamped the insert with images from the Seasonal Sentiments stamp set and cut out the shaker frame opening with an Inside Bracket Stacklets die. The shaker is filled with Bits & Pieces – Peppermints, Bits & Pieces – Snowflakes, and Snow Flurries sequins. The star of this card is the adorable penguin from the Fluffy Friends – Holiday stamp set standing on a candy cane that Jill cut out from Red Pepper cardstock that is stenciled with Sugar Cube ink stripes!
This sweet Christmas card was created by Melody Rupple. Melody arranged the candy canes into a heart design and framed them using a frame cut out with the Stitched Circle Stacklets and Inside Scallop Circle Stacklets dies. Lots of holly and Bits & Pieces – Peppermints are added around the candy canes along with the ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment that is embossed with the Red Peppermint Scented embossing powder. I love the border that Melody added to the bottom of the card that was trimmed from a Sweet Stripes Cutting Plate die cut!
