Blog Design Team: Hello Love!
It’s been another busy week here at TE headquarters and we can’t believe it’s already half over! We decided it would be nice to take a little breather and lucky for us, Blog Team designer Kay Miller has created another beautiful bit of die-cut eye candy for us to admire and enjoy! Below, she shares her take on an updated, modern Valentine. (Be sure to check out her easy tip for making die-cut greenery gorgeous!)
Kay’s Notes: It’s that time of year, when our thoughts turn to love! I have so many
fond memories of making Valentine cards when I was a kid. I am so
happy that I have a hobby as an adult, that lets me do the same now.
Kay’s Notes: I
started this card with an A2 size card base folded at the top. I cut a
3/4 inch strip of Strawberry Milkshake card stock and glued it straight
across the lower edge of the card, about an inch up from the bottom.
Kay’s Notes: Next I cut the smallest frame from Label Stacklets 3 out of the pink
polka dot paper from the Double The Fun Paper Pack, and glued that down
flat, just off center and to the right.
Kay’s Notes: I cut out a white swirl from
Curly Swirlies and adhered it with foam tape. Then I cut the greenery
out using Leafy Branch.
(Tip: To quickly add some depth and visual texture to greenery cut from solid cardstock, choose an alcohol marker just a shade darker than your paper. Lightly brush the marker across each leaf to add some shading.)
Kay’s Notes: I cut out three
of the ‘hello’ die from Hi, Hey, Hello and glued them together with some liquid
glue (this is an easy way to create a chipboard look) and then glued them flat to the polka dot paper mat. Finishing off with some tiny flowers, a little heart die-cut and some tiny pink rhinestones affixed to the centers of the flowers, I scattered a few stones outside of the main cluster of elements. There you
have it! Now to decide which of my special people I want to send this
Valentine card to.
Me! Send it to me! Whoever gets this beauty from Kay will be having a very joyful day. Thank you, Kay, for sharing such a lovely card with us. You can view more of Kay’s lovely wonderful work on her blog, My Joyful Moments. Check back in tomorrow for more inspiration from our amazing team!
