Pretty Petals
This has been one of my favorite sets in the past but with the release of the new catty it has been feeling a little neglected… in fact, I could hear it calling to me from the shelf last night… all the way on the bottom of the pile. LOL! I made this for the color challenge on Splitcoast (view challenge here). I absolutely *love* this combo and I never would have picked it myself! That’s what I enjoy about the color challenges… they’re usually colors that I don’t reach for on a regular basis and it gives me a chance to broaden my horizons!
The colors are Vintage Violet (my fav new In Color), Sage Shadow, and Creamy Caramel. The card front is wheeled with the new Rough Texture jumbo wheel. I love how easy it is to create a great background with these new jumbo texture wheels. I have a bunch more on my wishlist! I like to wheel Rough Texture diagonally for a little different look. The sage and caramel layers are stamped with the same flower as the focal image. Once again, I just couldn’t leave the white gel pen alone so I had to do some stitching… I guess you could say I’m addicted! LOL! For the finishing touches I distressed the edges, tied a bow, attached the birthday tag, added some hodgepodge, a snap stamp “friend” sentiment, and some stardust stickles on the flowers. Whew… that was a lot of finishing touches. 🙂
