A Simple Challenge
Simple cards are so difficult for me! I have to tie my hands together to stop them from adding more and more details. My friend Jami said something that made me chuckle yesterday….she said that she lives under the more is more philosophy of cardmaking. Hehe… I’m right there with her! I love to add sponging, doodling, multiple backgrounds, etc. etc. But I challenged myself last night to sit down and make some simple cards. And what better to use than the Fabriano Medioevalis cards! They have such a beautiful texture that you just don’t want to cover up, so it was easier to leave these simple. I used the Snowflakes set on all of these cards. I tried the square card first. This one was especially difficult for me because I knew I wanted the snowflake two different colors but I don’t have markers. UGH! So I inked up the entire snowflake with Bordering Blue and colored the inside with blender pen dipped in Night of Navy. I had to huff it real good to make sure I would get a clean image. And even then there were some places I had to touch up. I am ordering the markers today! They are a present to myself for the promotion I got at work! 🙂 The sentiment on this card is from Many Merry Messages and there is a square rhinestone in the snowflake center and stardust Stickles highlighting parts of the design. The second card is the rectangular notecard size of the Fabriano cards. I stamped the snowflakes in Night of Navy, Bordering Blue, and Close to Cocoa falling from left to right. Then I added the sentiment from Many Merry Messages by inking and stamping only the Happy and then the Holidays underneath. Each of the snowflakes has a rhinestone in the center. I just couldn’t leave off the bling! 😉 The third card uses the same colors… Bordering Blue, Night of Navy, and Close to Cocoa. The sentiment is from Many Merry Messages and the snowflakes have rhinestone centers once again. I am off to go shopping with a friend today. I haven’t been to a mall in ages so hopefully I don’t go too crazy! I could really use a few more outfits for work. I’ll let you know what I come back with. Being as tall as I am, shopping can often be depressing. They just don’t have cute stuff made for tall people…. and who wants to walk around in highwater pants!? Definitely not me! 🙂
