Oh Baby!
Today my big project was to make baby cards for my upcoming craft show. I love the soft colors and the cutesy images for baby cards. They are one of my favorite types of cards to make! These two are just a few of the cards I came up with today… I only have one baby set so I had to get creative with my other sets. The first card uses the giraffe from Wild About You. I stamped the giraffe in Pretty in Pink and then punched holes in it with my handheld Fiskars circle punches. I matted it on Cool Caribbean so you can see that color through the punched holes. I tied a piece of organdy ribbon around the giraffe’s neck and she is holding a flower in her tail. The flower is up on dimensionals and covered with stardust Stickles. Then I doodled around the image with a black journaler. The Cool Caribbean piece is stamped with Houndstooth and the Certainly Celery piece is stamped with the Floral background. There is stitching around each of the Pretty In Pink pieces and distressing on the main image as well. I tied a ribbon (which I dyed to match Cool Caribbean) on the side with a hodgepodge clip in the center. The sentiments “baby” and “congratulations” are done with Karen Foster snap stamps… 1/8″ casual font.
The second card uses the only baby set that I own. 🙂 I stamped the hand from I’m Here in Pretty in Pink and cut it out with my Creative Memories circle cutting templates. Then I cut the mat in Certainly Celery and punched the scallop out of Pretty in Pink. The scallop is pierced and then accented with white gel pen. I added the “congratulations” sentiment with my Karen Foster snap stamps. I then stamped the hand onto a sheet of terrifically tacky tape and cut it out. I put the tape over the hand and covered it with microbeads. The Cool Caribbean piece is stamped with Houndtooth and the Certainly Celery piece is stamped with Paisley Print. Then I added some stitching, Pretty in Pink ribbon, and a Making Memories rattle charm. And I couldn’t resist using a few square rhinestones in the corner. Thanks for looking! I hope everybody had a wonderful weekend… back to the grindstone tomorrow. Oh… and I had a very good day shopping yesterday. I got a new outfit for work and I’m going to see if Jon can take a few pictures of me before I go to work in it tomorrow. I’m one of those people who wears my new outfits on the very first opportunity I get! LOL!
