Color Challenge…. oopsie!
I sat down last night to do the color challenge on Splitcoast (view challenge here) and after I had finished the card I realized I used the wrong colors! I’m blaming it on the fact that I was tired and it was late, but really I’m just an idiot! The color combo was supposed to be Real Red, Old Olive, and Certainly Celery. I used Always Artichoke instead of Old Olive… but two out of three ain’t bad, right!? 😉 Anyway, I had a grand idea for this card, but it didn’t turn out like I expected. I still like it, but it’s not what it looked like in my head before I started. LOL! I started by markering my dotted background and stamping it onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock. I was all about using scraps last night and this was the biggest Very Vanilla scrap I could find so that’s how the card took shape. The Real Red inner portion is also stamped with the dotted background tone on tone, but you can hardly see it in the picture. I stamped the ornaments from Oh My Word onto Very Vanilla, cut them out, and covered them with microbeads. The ornament toppers/hangers are embossed with silver EP and cut out as well. I tied bows on each ornament with silver cording. The card base and the Always Artichoke strip are both stamped with Aida Cloth. Then I added the stitching and the sparkle sentiment from Warm Words. Are you sick of Christmas cards yet!? ‘Cuz there’s lots more where this came from! 🙂 Thanks for looking!
