Happy Cupcake Day!
Happy Cupcake Day! Happy Friday! I had a couple vacation days this week so the few work days have gone by really fast and I’m ready for the weekend! I have lots to do in the way of planning projects for my upcoming stamp camp and my class at the LSS… but that’s fun work so I’m looking forward to it! I think I originally saw this blocked layout in an issue of Take Ten. It’s so fun and easy! The block paper is by American Crafts as well as the matching ribbon. The cupcake image is one that I purchased from Wildflower Stamps. They are acrylic stamps and the more I use acrylic stamps, the less thrilled I am with the results. I just can’t seem to get a clean and crisp stamped image with them. Maybe I’m using the wrong ink… I use SU! classic ink on Whisper White paper. Is chalk ink better for acrylics? I’m open to any advice because I love so many acrylic images, but just can’t seem to get them to work for me! I hand-drew around some of the squares in the background with a black marker and white gel pen. The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol and a stump. I added stardust Stickles over the frosting on the cupcake. I doodled around the image, used the ticket corner punch, and popped up the image layer with dimensionals. Then I added the silver brads to the lower layer. The hey cupcake sentiment is from Amuse. I just couldn’t pass it up when I saw it at my LSS… perfect for cupcake Friday! Hope you all have a great weekend!!
