What happens in Vegas…
…stays in Vegas! We all know the cliche, but I’m happy to report that I didn’t do anything in Vegas that I wouldn’t tell you all about! 😉 Overall it was a great trip, but I’m going to have to say that Vegas isn’t my favorite vacation spot. I’m really more of a “layout on the beach with a good book” kinda gal! While we were there, we walked around to all the casinos on the strip.
I was amazed at the $$$ that goes into these places! Just in case you’re not familiar with Vegas, most of the hotels are themed. For instance, I loved New York New York with the Statue of Liberty out front and the themed shops inside. I loved the smoking potholes… very New York! I also loved the Venetian with the gondolas (although we didn’t take a ride on them). And the Bellagio was definitely the prettiest! Such ornate glass work and
the fountains outside were fabulous! We stayed at the Luxor which was nice as well. It is shaped
like a pyramid and the weirdest part is that the elevators move side to side instead of up and down. I didn’t know this when I stepped on for the first time and when it started going I almost fell down because I wasn’t expecting it! LOL! We also went to the Hoover Dam and went on the discovery tour there. What an awesome piece of architecture and to think it was built before computers and the high-tech machinery we have available today. Besides seeing all the sites, we stopped by a couple outlet malls and I got something I’ve been wanting for a looooooong time… a Coach purse! I was just tickled with my purchase. I can’t find a pic of the exact one I picked out, but here’s a pic of one that is similar. The exact one I got is all white leather and has two pockets in front. I also got a pink flower charm and a black and white signature scarf to tie on the purse. Oh… and can’t forget the leather cleaner since it is white! I also made a big score at the hotel. The shampoo bottles in the Luxor are clear plastic cylinders with metal screw top lids. I collected them from all the rooms we occupied, washed out the shampoo, and now they’re ready to be used as brad/eyelet storage! I will never hear the end of it from my husband though! He teases me that even on vacation my mind is constantly working, dreaming up how to use everyday items creatively. 🙂
I’m sure you all want to know the winner of my blog candy drawing so I won’t make you wait any longer! Thank you all for sharing your favorite vacation spots! I’m hoping to put together a list and post it here. With summer coming soon, we all might be looking for a new vacation spot. I used this website to randomly generate a number and the lucky winner is Amanda Sewell! YAY! Amanda, send me your address and I’ll get these goodies in the mail!
