Memory Box Birthday

One of my coworkers asked me to make several birthday cards for all the October birthdays among her friends and family. I absolutely LOVE Memory Box penguins and couldn’t leave them uninked any longer! This is Birthday Penguin, but I also have Beach Penguin and Hula Penguin and *must* add a few more to my collection soon! You can purchase all the Memory Box penguins at Eclectic Paperie. The penguins are colored with Copic markers. The common color in all of them is pink so I chose that for the card base. It’s really hard to tell in the picture, but the base is stamped with the Polka Dot Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. The sentiment is something I picked up at Hobby Lobby when I lived in the midwest… gosh, I miss Hobby Lobby! It just happened to fit perfectly. The ribbon is May Arts from StarLitStudio. I added black brads to each of the images and then drew boxes around them with black marker. The penguins are standing on “ice” made from Crystal Stickles. Thanks for stopping by today! Love the birthday penguin but you must get Santa penguin and Chef penguin, I just checked them all out and those two are screaming at me “BUY ME”! Your card is adorable, thanks for the link.

Like everybody else that lives clear across the country I am envious of those that can take your class as I would take it in a heartbeat!!! Taylor — this is very cool — rather like the album that folks got to do on the cruise (that one used a peachy folder) It looks like you just fold up the “bottom” one third of the way up, then accordion fold the pages… but you make it look quite elegant! It is neat the way you have two tabs, aparently! Doesn’t seem like it would work like that — gotta see for myself (I guess it might depend on the folder you have, eh?) Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration!

Taylor, This is gorgeous. Wish I lived closer (I think I’m about 2600 miles from you) :-(. I love these “little” albums–my teen daughter and her friends like to make them for each other as gifts! Hopefully after your class you would be willing to share the instructions for the base. In the meantime I think I’m going to play around a little. TFS!

Taylor, this album is just awesome. Since I live over 3000 miles from your next class will be would you consider sharing your directions with those of us who are so far away from CA once your class is done? There re such possibilities with this album. I would love to try one.

Taylor, this is absolutely beautiful! I, too would love the basic directions for this. I work for an attorney, so I can put my hands on a bunch of file folders :)! Your blog is the first one I ever visited, and I stalk it daily! Love all your creations!

It’s amazing and beautiful! Now this is one thing I think I could actually make…it’s not as intimidating as an entire scrapbook, yet it would be incredibly keepsake-able…wouldn’t it be cool to do one on every anniversary or so?
