Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks Day 2
Today we’re continuing with the birthday theme as we celebrate our 2nd birthday! And I can’t think of a better way to celebrate a birthday than with new stamps!
So What’s Cookin’ at Taylored Expressions today? The Baker’s Dozen and I are proud to present sneak peeks of 7 new A la Carte stamps illustrated by the same pen that draws the Apple Doodle Ink collection we all love! And the concept for these adorable stamps came from our very own Jami Sibley! I’d say she’s knows me all too well… more often than not my birthday cards are late. But the image and sentiment combinations in these Belated Birthday A la Carte stamps, are sure to put a smile on the recipient’s face no matter how late the card is! In fact, these stamps make me want to forget birthdays on purpose just to use them! Totally just kidding! *wink*
My first card features the Belated Birthday – Running Late stamp. Each of our Belated Birthday A la Cartes includes one image and two coordinating sentiments. I started by coloring the hippo with Copics and paper piecing the tank top with patterned paper from the Cosmo Cricket Pixie-Licious Mini Deck. Then I used the new Lacey Squares from Spellbinders to layer the image and finished the layout with more patterned paper from the Pixie-Licious collection. How cute is this gal!? I also decorated the inside of the card which includes the punchline… “If so, then I burned a lot of calories for your birthday this year!”. Oh… if only that were the case! I’d be burning a crazy amount of calories every day just for running late! *grin* I couldn’t stop at just one card so I brought out the Belated Birthday – Ducks in a Row stamp for my second card. I started by stamping the ducks in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics to match the Cosmo Cricket Togetherness patterned paper. I took inspiration from the kite strings in the patterned paper and added a kite to Mama Duck’s tail. Now all the little ones can see her as they march down the path. It’s fun to tell stories with stamps! *grin* I ruffled the Olive w/ Cream Dot ribbon and added a couple paper flowers and button embellishment to finish it off. I also decorated the inside of this card with the “Happy Belated Birthday” sentiment and another kite. The Scalloped Eyelet border on the inside of the card is the same Taylored border die that we debuted with our sneak peeks yesterday.
So, there you have it! I’ve only showed you two out of the seven Belated Birthday A la Carte stamps so you’ll want to check out what the rest of the Baker’s Dozen has to share today!
