Taylored Expressions January Sneaks – Day 2
It’s time for another day of sneak peeks for the January release at Taylored Expressions! Just a reminder that all of the new products that the Baker’s Dozen and I are sharing today will be available for purchase at 8am PST on Friday! You know how good things come in small packages? Today we’re focusing our sneak peeks on our new Petite stamp sets. If you missed our first Petite release last month then now is the perfect time to jump in! The Petite stamp sets are 3″ x 5.5″ and packed with the same deeply-etched rubber you love! You’ll receive them on a full-color panel for storage and they come already trimmed so they’re ready to use as soon as they arrive on your doorstep. We packed all that value in one set for just $7.95 making it the perfect opportunity to give TE a try! I know how much you all loved our Penguin Pals for the holidays so I’m excited to bring the penguins back to celebrate Valentine’s Day! We have three Penguin Petite sets each featuring a unique penguin image and additional coordinating images and sentiments. Many of us are also showcasing a new concept brought to us by Jami Sibley and illustrated by Nancy McKinney! Our first offering is the Wreath of Love and I can’t wait to show you all the possibilities for the wreath as we continue this concept throughout the year! And on top of all that we’re sharing three dies, one impression plate, and our Valentine Project Pantry kit! Whew… I’ve already done a lot of chatting so I better get to it or you’ll never make it to the end!
I’ll start off with the Penguin card I created using the Will You Be Mine? Petite set. I started by stamping the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloring it in with Copics. One nice thing about these penguins is that there’s not much coloring to do since the penguin body is solid and stamps black. Don’t get me wrong though, I love to color, but sometimes it’s just nice not to have to do it every time! I cut the image out with a Spellbinders Classic Heart and layered it onto the Scalloped Heart. The patterned paper I used is from the new Doodlebug Sweet Love collection. If you look closely, you can see the new Hearts Impression plate on the pink layer. I LOVE both of our impression plates and find myself reaching for them all the time! We debuted the collection last month with the Scallops & Circles plate and you can check out our how-to video here. I also used our new Heart Border die on this card. The heart chain is a super fun way to dress up any Valentine creation! I adhered a few of the small leftover hearts from the border over Mr. Penguin’s head. So there you have it… a new border die, another impression plate, and a peek at one of the penguins!
Next up is the card I made with the Wreath of Love Petite set! I always try to be festive with the front door of our home. Right now we still have this Christmas tree decal on it because I just can’t bear to take it down yet. So before I change the door decor I thought I’d do a little mock-up with this card! I started by cutting four rectangles. You could get really fancy and score each piece to look beveled, but I decided to emboss them with my Swiss Dot folder. Then I added a silver brad for the doorknob, a sentiment at the bottom, and popped each rectangle up on foam tape. Then I stamped the wreath in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copics. I cut the wreath out with our new wreath die and added a bow using with the dual cut & emboss basic bow die. I covered each heart with Glossy Accents and popped the wreath up on foam tape. A super simple way to send some love to people who might not make it to see your front door! *wink*
And last, I want to share the cards I created using our new Valentine Project Pantry kit! Our project pantry kits include the ingredients you’ll need to whip up a batch of coordinating cards. This time around we’re providing the coordinating cardstock, ribbon, and embellishments to go along with the Be My Valentine patterned paper by We R Memory Keepers. I added the Be My Valentine embossed stickers to the elements included in the kit in order to create these cards. I just love the soft pastel colors in this collection! And the embossed stickers are an adorable must-have! Here’s a photo of all the supplies included in our Valentine Project Pantry kit for just $17.95:
- 12 sheets of cardstock (10 colored, 2 Choice Snow White)
- 20 sheets of 6×6 double-sided patterned paper from the We R Memory Keepers Be My Valentine collection
- 5 yards of ribbon (1 yard each of 5 different styles)
- 2 jars of Sparkly Fluff
- Assorted heart shaped and round brads
