A Week of Share Joy Inspiration – Color Challenge
At the beginning of July we launched our Share Joy Campaign to receive your handmade cards and donate them to charitable organizations in hopes of sharing the joy of a handmade card with those in need of support, encouragement, and love.
For our first initiative, we asked all of you to send your handmade cards to benefit hospital chaplains who encounter
many different people in a variety of situations including those
celebrating a birth, grieving the death of a loved one, or struggling
with a new diagnosis. You responded to our call for handmade cards above and beyond any expectations and that makes my heart so happy! We received piles of cards (over 600 in total) which will be sent out to those in need this week. It was so fun opening your packages and reading your notes of care inside. Thank you so much for your generosity and know that your cards will be put to good use to brighten someone’s day!
You’re not required to use Taylored Expressions stamps on the cards that you donate, but we always love to see our stamps in action and we promised to choose our favorite TE card to be featured on our homepage. The winner of our homepage feature for this round of Share Joy Campaign is Susan Lankford. You can see her winning card featured here!
And now we’re continuing our 5th Birthday Bash this week by launching a new Share Joy Campaign, benefiting the Union Rescue Mission of Los Angeles, Prodigal’s Home of Phoenix, and Iowa Homeless Youth Shelter of Des Moines.
These wonderful charities work tirelessly to bring comfort and care to
many homeless individuals and families throughout the year. One way they
are sharing joy each and every day is by celebrating the birthdays of
their participants, and you can help by sending in your handmade
birthday cards!
This week, we’re helping to get you started by providing a new Birthday Inspiration Challenge each day. These charities need
birthday cards for all ages so send in your funny,
sweet, pretty, elegant, works of art and know that you will be
brightening someone’s day in a way only a handmade card can do.
Guidelines for Card Donations:
1. A2 cards only, no envelopes necessary
2. Themes: Birthday for all ages
(Please do not write inside the cards, stamped sentiments are acceptable)
3. TE stamps are NOT
required to donate to Share Joy. Cards created with TE stamps/dies will be eligible for a
special feature detailed below.
4. Deadline: All cards must be postmarked by Friday, November 15th
5. Mailing Address:

Today we have a color challenge for you with the color selection provided by the wonderful Joan Ervin! Sometimes a terrific jumping off point to create a card is to begin with a great color palette.
If you want to donate your card to Share Joy, the only requirements are to create an A2 birthday card. We’re providing inspiration to get you started, but you’re not required to use these challenges on your donated cards. We’ll take any and all birthday cards!
I kept my project clean and simple and fashioned it after something similar I saw on a recent Pinterest adventure.
Here are the supplies from the TE Store that I used:
Several of our talented Baker’s Dozen, alumni, and friends are joining together to provide inspiration to get you started! If you participate in our challenge, please come back and link up your creation with the Inlinkz below. I’d love to see it!
