I have really been enjoying keeping up with my scrapbooking lately! The pocket style layouts make for a quicker project and I can still personalize everything in my own style with our Pockets & Pages products! For this layout I printed several Insta photos of Madelyn and made this bright layout of featuring moments from her first year:
I used patterned paper from the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine collection and die cut the InstaSquares elements from Cork Paper for an added ‘pop’.
For the ‘title pocket’ I started with a multi-colored piece of patterned paper and stamped the arrows from Doodle Borders with Versamark ink from top to bottom. I covered them with white embossing powder and heat embossed. The ‘insta’ word is cut from the middle of one of the Circle Words. The cork camera is from the new InstaSquares dies. I had the ‘moments’ sticker in my stash and ‘with Madelyn’ was added with rub-ons. And of course I added Sprinkles… hard to believe, huh? *wink*
On the right side I kept it simple by trimming the photos with the smaller die in the Pockets & Pages 2×2 Essentials set and layering them over a colored piece cut from the larger die in the same set. For a little added texture I cut several of the InstaSquares from cork paper and added those within the layout.
So what do you think? Hopefully you’re thinking “Hey… that looks cute and easy too!”
Since that project came together so quickly I decided to keep going and make a few more cards to show off the new cutting plates. This one uses the Gathered Blooms Cutting Plate which happens to be what we’re giving away today!
I started by cutting the design from Choice Snow White Cardstock and adhering it over the top of the teal cardstock. Then I cut a hole into the middle of the design with a circle die.
Taylor’s Tip: Make sure all of the parts and pieces of the Cutting Plate are adhered well to the teal piece. Otherwise when you cut the circle out of the design, any loose pieces will fall out of the design.
I popped it up over a piece of yellow cardstock and onto a white card base.
Then I decided that the butterfly from Flutter-bys would be the perfect addition to the open space. Before die cutting, I covered a piece of white cardstock with an adhesive sheet. Then I die cut the butterfly so that the design was covered in adhesive after cutting. I peeled the backing from the adhesive sheet and covered the butterfly with glitter (which was hard to capture in my photos!)
The sentiment is from the Shine Bright stamp set and I flagged the ends by hand. And I finished it off with Sprinkles in Lily White and Bumblebee.
And last up for today, I want to share a card I made with the new Hexagon Cutting Plate:
When the Hexagon Cutting Plate arrived at the TE warehouse, it reminded the gals who work there of honeycomb and they challenged me to make a project to show how this design could be used as such. I started by die cutting from both a light yellow and golden yellow. Then I pieced the darker yellow cutouts within the light yellow design.
I kept it simple by added a vellum die cut using Banner Stacklets 1. The bee images from the Bugabee stamp set were perfect for the honeycomb backdrop. I cut them out with the Bugabee Bugs dies and embossed the trails and ‘happy’ sentiment in black embossing powder. Oh… and I put black Sprinkles on their antennae!
Those are the three projects I have to share with you today! You don’t want to miss a thing so travel along to see what the rest of the Baker’s Dozen gals have created with today’s featured products:
