Before I share my first project, I want to tell you more about our new Little Bits Die Collection. These dies are small in size, but big on cute! They measure between .25″ to 1.5″ and are perfect for creating scenes and adding small embellishments to your cards and scrapbook pages. And with each die set retailing for just $5 or $6, you can afford to choose several favorites to satisfy your creative craving!
And now here’s a card I made using the three Little Bits dies that we’re giving away today… Beach Umbrella, Sun & Clouds, and Sandcastle:
I thought the Pockets & Pages 3×4 Photo Frame would be the perfect frame for my scene so I started by die cutting it from one of the patterned pieces in the MME Wood Essentials paper pad. I tore pieces of Kraft cardstock and adhered them behind the frame for the sand. The last thing I did to prepare my ‘canvas’ for the scene was to place a piece of like sky patterned paper behind the entire frame.
Then I die cut all of the Little Bits pieces and assembled the scene. I stamped the frame from A Day in Paradise in grey ink and stamped the ‘Relax’ sentiment from Little Bits of Summer inside. The patterned paper is from the Carta Bella Ahoy There 6×6 paper pad.
Now I want to share a card that I think may be in my top favorite cards I’ve ever made! The Big Kahuna stamp set makes me smile and I had so much fun creating this scene!
I started by stamping, coloring, and die cutting the surf wagon and palm trees. The wood paneling on the surf wagon is paper pieced with a pattern from the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine paper pad. Then I pulled out a multi-colored piece from the same collection and stamped words from the Little Bits of Summer stamp set in Versamark on the entire sheet.
Taylor’s Tip: Stamp a couple lines and cover with embossing powder and then stamp another couple lines and cover with embossing powder. Do not heat emboss until the entire piece is stamped and covered with embossing powder. This will prevent your paper and embossing powder from burning from heating multiple times.
Then I thought about how I wanted to put the scene together and I decided the Travel Road Trendy Tape was the perfect solution! To finish it off, I stamped the sentiment, cut it out with Label Stacklets 2, and added some Sprinkles. I also added the new My Mind’s Eye metal enamel dots to the car.
One more piece of info… I cut out the windows of the car with an Xacto knife because I wanted the background paper to show through. The coordinating die cuts around the car, but does not trim out the windows.
And last up on my list of sneak peeks for today is a card I made using a stamp set that is a continuation of our Pawsitively Purrfect series, Peeking In. This one features both a cat and a dog designed specifically to work with our window dies and accessories.
I started by cutting the Arched Window and window box from wood patterned cardstock in the MME Wood Essentials paper pad. Then I stamped the cat onto cardstock, colored with Copics, and trimmed the piece to fit behind the window diecut. The peeking kitty needed a little embellishment so I added the clouds from the new Little Bits Sun & Clouds and the miniature pot and flower from the Little Bits Flowers & Stems.
The patterned paper is from two different pads, Pebbles Garden Party and Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky. And your eyes do not deceive you… I used another Sprinkle. *grin*
That’s it for my sneak peeks today, but I’ll be back tomorrow with more new goodies to share! Make sure you hop along and check out what the rest of the design team created using the new Little Bits and the rest of today’s stamps and dies! And don’t forget to leave a comment below for your chance to win!
