Guest Blogger: Kittie Caracciolo Day 3
We have been so lucky to have the incredibly talented Kittie Caracciolo as this month’s Guest Blogger. She has been delighting us all month long with her incredible die-cut scenes. If you missed her other creations, be sure to check theme out HERE and HERE! Today is Kittie’s last guest post with us and she is serving up another spectacular work of art…
Kittie used our Display Window and our Shade Tree Cutting Plate as the main elements of her card. Be sure to leave Kittie some love by telling us all what the view is outside your window!
Kittie’s card reminds us not to be afraid to separate pieces of a die to suit your creative needs. Kittie created her tree by cutting the Shade Tree itself away from its frame, attaching a hand-cut “extension” of its trunk to allow for a vertical card. (Hint: cover the extension seam with some strategically placed elements as Kittie did with the birdhouse and vines.)
To create a “see-through” window, Kittie used a die-cut of the window as
a template, drawing cutting lines and then using a craft knife to cut
away an opening. She then die-cut two windows, attaching one window to
her card base with mounting tape. Next, she attached drapes from our Window Accessories
on the inside of the window opening and attached the second window over
the inside opening on the inside of the card to cover the raw cut
edges.
Thank you so much, Kittie, for sharing your creative joy with us! You can find more of Kittie’s incredible design work on her blog, Kittie Kraft.
