Blog Design Team: Peace on Earth
Happy December, crafty friends! Last week it was Thanksgiving for us here in the U.S. and we had time to reflect on all we have to be thankful for. As the year winds to a close, we turn our thoughts to the future and to what our hopes are for the coming year. Blog Team designer Caryn Davies, has created a card that reflects what we can all wish for.
Caryn’s Notes: Today I used the
beautiful Joy To The World stamp set on my card to create a heavenly
choir of angels.
Caryn’s Notes: I created my card base from white card stock measuring
4-1/4″ by 5-1/5″ and cut a panel slightly smaller also from white. I
used a masking technique by first stamping the central of my three
angels in black and then again on some masking paper. I carefully cut
her out and then temporarily adhered the mask image over the image on my
card panel. With the center angel safely covered up, I stamped the other two angels
on either side of the masked image so that they appear to be standing
behind her.
Caryn’s Notes: I wanted a soft inked background so I stamped the other two
angels onto masking paper and covered them up. I then inked the
background sky using a sponge applicator and Distress Ink.
Caryn’s Notes: I removed the masking paper and then added some subtle color with
Copic markers. I colored the angel’s wings and halos with a gold shimmer pen. To complete my card, I die cut
some clouds using the Cloud Duo dies and stamped, embossed (in gold) and
cut out a harp image also from the Joy To The World stamp set. I added
a final embellishment of some little stars and gold thread. The
sentiment was stamped in gold below the clouds.
Thanks so much, Caryn, for sharing such a beautiful card with us. You can see more of Caryn’s work on her blog, Glitter Me Silly.
