Introducing: Chemical Reaction, Formula for Love, & New Little Bits!
Good morning and Happy Monday! I can hardly believe it’s December! Where did November go? Better yet, where did the whole year go? The holiday season is upon us and here I’ve been having so much fun with our newest releases for Valentine’s Day. I can’t wait to share everything with you! Valentine’s Day sneaks up quickly after Christmas so it’s always good to plan ahead. The Baker’s Dozen and I will be sharing our sneak peeks with you this week and you’ll also have several chances to win free goodies right here on the TE Blog.
All of the new products will be available for purchase at the TE web store on Thursday, December 11th at 7am PST. In the meantime, check out today’s ‘comment to win’ prize! Ready, set, comment for your chance to win!
So there you have today’s sneak peek products with more to come on Tuesday and Wednesday! Do you already have a favorite? Let me show you what I made and then see if you have any new favorites by the time you’re done checking out all the inspiration from the Baker’s Dozen!
The Chemical Reaction die set is one of my favorites! I’m loving shaker cards lately and this set of dies was designed to make quick and easy work of a chemistry flask shaker element. If you want to create the shaker frame just nest the two dies together when you run them through your die cut machine. You can also use the die separately if you don’t wish to create the frame.
After die cutting the frame, I added transparency to the back and then foam tape all around the edges of the frame. I adhered the bottom and sides of the flask to white card stock leaving the top open to insert the Formula for Love sequins and the stir stick before sealing it up.
I added the little bubbles from Beaker Buddies and the sentiment is from a set that I’ll show you tomorrow (yep… I’m a tease!).
For my next project I combined lots of different dies, one stamp, and our new patterned paper collection:
I started with the Mini Envelope die which is cut from patterned paper in the Formula for Love paper pack. I folded and glued it together leaving the flap of the envelope open. I just love this little envelope! The finished size when completely folded together is 1 3/8″ x 2″ making it the perfect size for a card.
I die cut the Little Bits – Love Confetti from several colors of card stock and adhered the pieces as if they were bursting from the envelope. I also added some of the Formula for Love sequins for a little sparkle. The new Postage Stamp Stacklets make a perfect layering piece for the envelope and the sentiment stamp and die are from a set that I’ll be sharing more of tomorrow (yep… still a tease!).
My last project today is the most simple and perhaps my favorite! I used the new Little Bits – Light Bulb and a matching sentiment from the Punny Love stamp set. Punny Love is awesome because it has a sentiment to match several of the new Little Bits & our new Sack It characters too!
I knew I wanted to hang my light bulb so I started by searching through my die collection for a curly ‘string’. The balloon string from Party Time worked perfectly! I cut the lightbulb out of Lemon Meringue card stock which was much too bright so I cut an additional lightbulb from vellum and put the vellum over the top of the yellow. I needed a something to set my scene so I grabbed my go-to Pockets & Pages 3×4 Photo Frame (I think I use this more for card making than I do for scrapbooking!) and cut it out of one of the patterned papers in the Formula for Love paper pack.
For the background I used the embossed embossing technique with my Zig Zag embossing folder. First you emboss your card stock and then you use a brayer to apply Versamark ink only to the raised portions of the design. As you can see, I didn’t get perfectly crisp results, but I actually preferred the distressed/imperfect look so I didn’t try again. Gotta love it when that happens!
Thanks so much for stopping by for our first day of sneak peeks! Make sure you travel on to see what the rest of our talented team has created using these ‘love’ly new products and don’t forget to leave your comment for a chance to win! Tell me which new goodie is your favorite!
