If you’ve been hanging around the TE Blog for long, then you probably know that I have a thing for ROY G BIV. I’ve been dying to use this Rainbow Brights paper pack as soon as it made it’s way off of my computer screen and onto actual paper!
I thought what better way to show off my love of all things rainbow than with scrumptious rainbow colored gum balls!?
Not only did I get to have fun with rainbow colors, but I also got to explore my new found love of shaker cards. The die included with the Goody Goody Gumballs set is perfect for making shaker cards as it allows you to cut out the inside of the gumball machine to show off whatever you want to put inside (I chose the new Rainbow Brights sequins).
If you don’t want to make a shaker, just separate the inner die from the outer die with wire snips and die cut only around the outside of the gumball machine.
Above you can see the dimension of the gumball machine once I’ve created the frame of foam tape on the under layer. I typically use two layers of this foam tape to build my shaker base. It works great because I can cut the pieces as big or small as I need them.
For my next project I grabbed the sweet and simple Hello Baby stamp set. The large cloud can be used as a baby mobile as I did on my card, or you could use it with raindrops for an “under the weather?” card or with hearts for a “showered with love” card. Lots of possibilities!
I started by stamping the chevron cloud and die cutting it with the coordinating die. Then I die cut the small icons (star, flower, heart, and butterfly).
After framing the outside of my card I arranged the elements without the layered frame and stamped the sentiment below. Super sweet and simple! And I used the Rainbow Brights paper pack without making a ‘rainbow’ card.
As always, the super talented Baker’s Dozen design team has more projects to share with you using today’s sneak peek products!
