We’ve added several new products to our popular Build a Scene collection and I can’t wait to share them with you! The Build a Scene 6×6 paper pack was born from a desire to have multiple patterns appropriately sized and designed for building a scene on your cards. You’ll find several green colors/patterns for grass and hills, woodgrain colors/patterns for trees, in addition to clouds, waves, brick, and other bright colors for die cutting accents like sunshine and flowers.
I used the Build a Scene 6×6 paper pack and Build a Scene – On the Road dies with the new Vroom Vroom stamp set to make this card:
I started by cutting the previously released Build a Scene – Rolling Hills from one of the green patterns in the paper pack. The curved road die was designed to line up perfectly with the curve of the hill in the Rolling Hills die. I placed the road pieces at the bottom of the card and along the top of the hill.
Tip: The solid pieces in the On the Road die set make it easy to achieve colored lines on the road. Just cut a strip of a solid color and adhere it behind the open line road.
A couple special touches include a bright red embossed car (using Zing! Rouge embossing powder) and metallic dots the rims on the wheels.
For my next project I wanted to try the Build a Scene – Rolling Clouds die set and I can tell that these will become one of my most used items! I used them to create a backdrop for the adorable houses in the Happy New Home stamp set.
First I stamped, colored, and die cut each of the houses. Then I cut several of the Rolling Clouds from Sugar Cube cardstock (notice the super cute stitch lines!) and arranged them onto a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock precut to 4″ x 5.25″, just slightly smaller than an A2 card front.
I cut a Rolling Hill from Granny Smith cardstock and added that to the bottom portion. Each of the houses is popped up with foam tape and I popped up a couple small clouds in the sky.
To finish it off I added the Doodlebug patterned paper and popped up a thick frame around the outside (cut from Lollipop cardstock).
Thanks so much for stopping by for our first day of sneak peeks! Make sure you travel on to see what the rest of our talented team has created for Petite-a-Palooza! Don’t forget to leave your comment for a chance to win…tell me which new goodie is your favorite!
