    Blog Design Team: Graphically Yours…

Happy, happy Friday, crafty friends! Today, Blog Team Designer Julia Stainton uses a simple emboss resist technique and distress inks to create a Valentine’s Day card with a lot of vim and vigor! Check things out below…

Julia’s Notes: I am so excited to create with the Graphic Greetings Valentine stamp.
The collection of sentiments is the perfect way to send your love for
Valentine’s Day and the possibilities of different techniques to use on
    it kept filling my head.

Julia’s Notes: In the end, I settled on a simple resist
technique to create this design. To start off with, the sentiment is
stamped in Versamark ink onto Sugar Cube cardstock.

Julia’s Notes: I then embossed the
sentiment with clear embossing powder to form the ‘resist.’ Whatever colored ink I
place over the sentiment will be resisted by the embossed areas.

    Julia’s Notes: One of
my favorite ink color combos is Worn Lipstick and Dried
Marigold Distress Inks. To add color to the white panel and make the
sentiment pop, I sponged the embossed stamp image with these inks.

Julia’s Notes: I love adding texture and visual interest to my card backgrounds with die cuts. The Quatrefoil Cutting Plate is
perfect for this. It’s cut from more Sugar Cube cardstock and then
lightly sponged with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink so that the panels match
    perfectly.

Julia’s Notes: I adore adding in embellishments and some sweet wood hearts and arrows are a fun touch to the design.

Be sure to check out Julia’s blog, Belle Papier to see more of her lovely projects. Have a wonderful weekend and tune in tomorrow for a project from Julia’s teammate, Amy Sheffer.
