Blog Design Team: Love, Love, Love
Hi there, crafty friends! Today we’ve got a very pretty card from Blog Team Member Amy Sheffer, who is sharing how she used our Hearts A Flutter Cutting Plate to make a quick, but lovely, card.
Plus, to help you recreate Amy’s card, we’re giving away the cutting plate she used! Keep reading for details on how to enter…
Amy’s Notes: My heart’s a-flutter for the Hearts A Flutter cutting plate! Today I have a pretty and easy-to-make card for Valentine’s Day.
Amy’s Notes: After
die-cutting a Sugar Cube panel with this cutting plate, I cut out just the
large heart using the largest heart die from the Heart Stacklets set.
Amy’s Notes: I
mounted the heart to a gray card stock heart backing to enhance the
shadows created by the fluttering hearts. I colored over all the
fluttering hearts with a clear Wink of Stella pen, sponged a little bit
of Worn Lipstick Distress Ink along the very bottom, then curled up the
edges of selected hearts.
Amy’s Notes: I adhered the word “love” in three different
colors, with a matching heart for each as well. The rest of the card
features a minimalist, white-on-white design with pops of color.
Amy’s Notes: The
background is dry embossed with a woodgrain folder (hint: be on the lookout for some woodgrain in a future TE release!), and two layers of
paper doilies add a little ruffle to the bottom of the heart. Last, I
tied on some metallic twine and topped off the bow with two more hearts
from the Hearts A Flutter cutting plate. Foam adhesive and texture are
great ways to keep an all-white design from looking flat. Here, I’ve
popped up the woodgrain background panel as well as the large heart with
foam tape.
