Blog Design Team: Everything’s Coming Up Eggy
Did this week fly by as quickly for you as it did for us? It’s Friday, and Blog Team designer Kay Miller is showing us how she used one die several times on the same card for a fun, layered look! Check it out…
And now, let’s hear from Kay about her project…
For this bright springtime card, which could easily be an Easter card
too, I used the adorable new stamp set called Tag-a-long Easter, which
has the cutest images (along with matching dies — which I love!)To start of my card, I cut out five 4-inch-wide by 5-1/4 inch-tall pieces of card stock from Cookie
Monster cardstock, the striped patterned paper from the Rainbow Brights Patterned Paper Pack, Lemon Meringue cardstock, and two from Sugar
Cube cardstock. I saved one of the white Sugar Cube pieces for my base and stamped
the sentiment down in the right corner.I used the Build a Scene-Rolling
Clouds dies to cut out each of my cloud borders. Each border was cut
out just a bit shorter than the first blue one, to create the layers.I
then glued down the blue, the striped patterned paper, and the yellow
one flat to my panel. The top white one, I adhered with foam tape, to
make it stand out and look more like a cloud. Last, I adhered the
little pot of eggs to the bottom left corner and then mounted the whole
panel to my A2 card base.
Thank you so much, Kay, for showing us how much fun it is to use the same die several times on one card! Be sure to visit Kay on her blog, My Joyful Moments, for more of her fabulous work. Tune in tomorrow for tips on stamping on vellum from Julia Stainton!
