Introducing: Eventful, Under the Toadstool, Gridlocked, and More!
Hey there, crafty card-makers; I’m glad you’re here today! It’s the last day of sneak peeks before our May Release! All of the products you’ve seen this week will be available at the TE web store starting tomorrow morning at 7am PST. But before I get ahead of myself, I have some really exciting new things to share with you today including Eventful, a mix ‘n’ match invitation concept, an adorable fairy & gnome set, and the latest addition to our Build a Tag series with a fun gridded twist.

If there’s one thing I love as much as stamping, it’s party planning! I love everything from start to finish… coming up with the theme, creating the invitation, matching party favors, table decor, food signs, thank you notes, and then ultimately hosting the shindig! I’ve often dreamed of stamps and dies to mix and match and create invitations for many different occasions. Today I’m excited to present the Eventful concept that fills my love for hosting handmade parties. I’m starting off my Eventful presentation with an ensemble I’ll be using for a 4th of July BBQ this summer:
The Eventful stamp set was designed to work together with the RSVP stamp to provide many different options for customizing the specific party theme and details. I typically make my party invitations a flat card sized at 5″ x 7″ so I used this size as a baseline in designing the concept. However, almost any size would work for your invitation and you could even do something folded with the details inside. We’re also releasing the Eventful – Tea Party and Eventful – Birthday Party dies along with several new Little Bits dies that can be used to create these themed invitations and party decor.
I used the new Little Bits Condiments, Hot Dog, Hamburger, and Flag to build a little BBQ scene at the bottom of my invitation. Both of our Eventful Borders (with more to come in the future!) would also fit in the open space at the bottom of my flat invitation for something more quick to create.
My family thought I was slightly strange for making 4th of July themed cupcakes this time of year, but they certainly didn’t complain when it was time to eat them! Of course, I’ll have to remake them when it comes time for the real shindig, but the Patriotic Treat Toppers and Cupcake Wrap were the perfect additions to my treat.
For party favors (because what’s a party without a favor!?) I decided to repurpose our Sack It – Leprechaun die into Uncle Sam. I simply cut his top hat from Red Pepper cardstock, added the Blue Corn strip, and stars cut from the Shining Star Cutting Plate. I also added the Little Bits – Flag to his hat for more festivity.
Overall, I loved how this turned out and now I can’t wait for our 4th of July BBQ. Wanna come!? I’m already looking forward to exploring more party themes with the Eventful stamps and dies! I’d love to hear about the next party you’ll be hosting!
For my next project I grabbed the Under the Toadstool set to create something magical and I was positively giddy when I finished this card. It might be one of my all-time favorites. Fairies and gnomes have magical dust that makes things happy so that’s what I set out to capture in this card:
I started by cutting several of the Build A Scene – Rolling Clouds and sponging the bottom of each layer with Broken China Distress Ink. I cut them down to size and adhered them to a piece of white cardstock cut to 4″ x 5.25″. Then I colored and die cut the pieces for the scene and adhered them to the clouds.
The sentiment was stamped onto one of the clouds from Cloud Stacklets and added to the scene. In order to incorporate the special gnome/fairy dust I needed a shaker element. So I die cut the largest frame from the Frame in Frame Cutting plate, added transparency over the opening and 1/8″ foam tape all the way around the outside. After adhering the frame to the cloud piece on three sides (leaving the top open) I added the tiny star confetti/sequin pieces inside.
The last picture shows the sparkle of the little stars the best. Oh, it just makes me smile! Next on my list to create is a card using the sweet fairy that says “I want pretty things and a pair of wings”!
