For my first project I pulled out the On the Line Cutting Plate & Accessories dies to create this card:
In designing this product, we wanted something that would cover the entire card front and take the guess work out of sizing and measuring. So the cutting plate was designed with a tree on each end to exactly fit on an A2 card front with a 1/8″ border all the way around.
In order to make the piecing the leafy portion easier, two leafy tree tops are included with the cutting plate and they have cute little leaves cut into them for added dimension (and I colored them with darker green Copic for even more definition).
The rest of the card was easy to finish off with the On the Line Accessories, Grass Border, and Cloud Stacklets. The sentiment is from the previously released Little Bits of Summer stamp set.
For my second project I got out the Eventful – Pool Party die and used it on this card that has me longing for an adirondack chair in the sun:
I started by cutting the new Rainbow Scallop Cutting Plate from cardstock. I placed it over a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock and used it as a stencil to create the background. I smooshed ink randomly into the openings using a sponge dauber.
I die cut the Pool Party border from several different colors of cardstock, piecing the design back together to get the multi-colored scene shown here:
I added a bit of detail on the palm fronds with Copic marker and a Doodlebug Sprinkle on the umbrella. Then I finished it off with a sentiment from the previously released Big Bold Summer stamp set.
That’s it for me today, but the rest of our talented creative team has much more inspiration to share with you!
