Blog Design Team: Don’t Worry, Be Happy!
Happy Wednesday! Today is our first official post with new Blog Design Team member, Sharon Harnist and we can’t wait to share her beach-tacular Father’s Day card with you today. Check it out…
Now let’s hear from Sharon about her fabulous Dad’s Day card…
With Father’s Day right around the corner and my stash of masculine cards
lacking, I thought something using Coconut Cove would make a great Father’s Day
card! I put my Copic airbrush system to work and used several Taylored
Expressions dies as templates for creating this ocean and beach scene:
After stamping the beach house and palm trees with Memento Tuxedo Black
ink onto Copic X-Press It Blending Cardstock, I used the Build a
Scene-Rolling Hills dies cut from vellum as a template to airbrush the
graduated colors to represent rolling ocean waves and the sand. I like using vellum for
templates when airbrushing so I can see through it, for easy placement.
For the airbrushed clouds, I used the Cloud Border Die. The
clouds are showing up a little faint in these photos … hopefully you can see
them better in this close-up:
The rest of the beach scene was colored with these Copic
markers:
To finish the card, I stamped the “don’t worry” sentiment from Coconut Cove with Memento
Teal Zeal ink onto a Build a Scene-Rolling Cloud die-cut. The “dad” word from Pockets & Pages-June Script was
die-cut from Lemon Meringue cardstock, then ombre-colored by blending with
Copic Y38 and Y17.Thanks so much for joining me today!
Thank you, Sharon for sharing this wonderful card with us today! Please visit Sharon on her blog, PaperFections, for more of her wonderful work and be sure to come back often as she shares more of her creations here on the TE Blog!
