Blog Design Team: Your Shade
Hey there, crafty friends! Today Blog Design Team member, Sharon Harnist has created a gorgeous inlaid card for us today and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Now let’s hear from Sharon about her card…
When I
first saw the Shade Tree Cutting Plate and its coordinating
Shade Tree Scripture and Shade Tree Sentiments
stamp sets, I knew these would be versatile, well-used additions to my
crafting supplies! To keep this card clean and simple, I die–cut the Shade Tree Cutting
Plate from Sugar Cube cardstock and separated the
background pieces from the tree (make sure none of the tiny pieces get away from
you!). I always use the Metal Adapter Shim in my die-cut sandwich, to ensure even cutting with intricate dies such as cutting plates. Next, I sponged Memento New Sprout and Summer
Sky onto the background pieces, creating grass and sky.Next, I gold heat embossed the beautiful Shade Tree
Scripture sentiment onto the lower part of the inked background panel,
then I inlaid all of the Shade Tree cardstock pieces back
together again (just like a puzzle!), adhering them onto another piece of Sugar
Cube cardstock, cut just a little smaller than the cutting plate background. The Shade Tree panel was popped up on foam tape over the
Sugar Cube card base. Next, in keeping with my white tree
theme, I die cut Flower Box Sprigs & Flowers from
Sugar Cube cardstock and layered four large and small flowers
together. The flowers were scattered across the tree, adding
Doodlebug Gold Sprinkles to the centers. I love the dimension
the flowers add to this card! This tree and flower combination could be used
year-round, in different color combinations, representing different seasons of
the year!
Thank you, Sharon for sharing this lovely inlaid card with us today! Please visit Sharon on her blog, PaperFections, for more of her wonderful work.
