Blog Design Team: Happy New Home
Today Blog Design Team member Amy Kolling is sharing an absolutely darling new home card with us today. Check it out below…
Now, let’s hear from Amy about her project…
Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a card for my sister-in-law and
her husband. I am super excited as they have moved to Topeka where we
live! We’ve never lived where there is family in the same town. (So
glad to have someone to call if we need something or a babysitter!) They are starting a new chapter in their
life with a new home.
I wanted to create a little scene using a perfect adorable set for this occasion: Happy New Home.
This set comes with matching dies to make this set a breeze to use and
it comes with a tiny cloud die too! I started with a Sugar Cube card
base and using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, I did some ink blending for a
gorgeous blue sky.
For my “hills”, I used the Build a Scene: Rolling Hills Dies with Peapod Cardstock and added texture using the Dotted Lattice Embossing Folder.
(NOTE: I didn’t want the “embossed look” of the folder so I used my
embossing folder more as an “impression plate” using one side of the
folder and an embossing pad from the Embossing Pad Kit.) I love the smooth look of this for my little scene.
I stamped my house, colored it with various Copics, and used the coordinating die. I added in some tiny die-cut clouds from Happy New Home and a die-cut sun from Sun and Clouds Dies.I stamped the sentiment directly on the panel. Some yellow
twine was added to tie the colors together. This whole panel was added
to my ink blended card base with foam adhesive.
Thanks so much for sharing a part of your day with me!
