Blog Design Team: This’ll Make You SMILE
Hey there, crafty friends! Today, Kay Miller has created an adorable card that would brighten just about anyone’s day. Check it out below…
Let’s hear from Kay about her project…
I have gotten to where I just love a subtle stenciled background on cards,
so I thought I would give that a try using one of the Taylored
Expressions Cutting Plates.
I used the Circles Cutting Plate and cut a
stencil out using Sugar Cube card stock. I placed this over a piece of 4-1/4 x 5-1/5 Sugar Cube card stock and gently sponged some Crushed Olive
and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks onto the lower right edge. I wanted
it subtle, so I didn’t do too much!
After that I cut about three
quarters of an inch off of the other side of this stenciled piece. I
then colored the bunny and flowers with Copic markers and cut them out
with their matching dies.
I stamped the smile sentiment onto a piece of
Poppyseed card stock and cut it out using the flag from the Label It
dies. I added foam tape to this and the bunny and flowers, and adhered
them to the stenciled piece. I then cut a piece of the green patterned
paper from the For Peep’s Sake paper pack, and glued it along the edge
of a top folded A2 size card.
I then added some foam tape to the
stenciled piece, and adhered that down to the card base. I added a few
Doodlebug sprinkles for a little pizzazz! A fun card sure to bring a
smile to the receiver’s face!
