Blog Design Team: You’re Amazing
Hey there, crafty friends! Today, Kay Miller has created a stunning stamped and watercolored card that is simply breathtaking. Check it out below…
Let’s hear from Kay about her project…
Every now and then you need a card for encouragement. Just something
to let that special person know that they have what it takes to
accomplish their dreams. That’s what I had in mind when I created this
card. For my background I used watercolor paper. I
inked up the branchy looking stamp from Make it Amazing with Old Paper
Distress ink, and spritzed my stamp with water before stamping on the
watercolor paper. I stamped again without inking up the stamp. I did
this a couple of times, then I took a paintbrush with water and gently
went around and blended those stamped image out just a bit. I then took
some Crushed Olive and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks, mixed with
water on my craft mat, and watercolored those lightly onto my piece. I
let this dry and flicked some of those same colors of distress ink onto
the piece. I let this dry well, and, using liberal amounts of foam tape
on the back, I adhered it to a white card base.
I
sponged some blue, green and grey ink onto the butterfly stamps and
stamped them on Sugar Cube card stock and cut them out with the
matching dies. I used foam tape to adhere them to the card. I cut a
vellum branch out using the Twiggy Branch die and adhered it with just a
touch of glue down at the bottom of the card.
I stamped the sentiment
and cut it out with the banner from the Label It die set, and adhered it
over the vellum branch with foam tape. Lastly I added three clear green
sequins from the Hocus Pocus Matched Sequins.
Thank you so much, Kay, for sharing your beautiful, encouraging card! Be sure to visit Kay on her blog, My Joyful Moments, for more of her fabulous work. Have a joyful day!
